Wow. All I can say here is that may your uncle's soul rest in peace. Accept my condolences too 🙏
It could have been best to bury him at his place of origin but this country's situation has gotten to the extent where one has no choice than to do otherwise, except one is in a big capacity to spend.

In my own culture too, you have to bury the dead in their village (their origin) and in my case, I don't think they would accept to be buried somewhere else, except they'd contribute money to bring the dead home because to them, it is like burying someone in a strange land.

Yes that's what I was told but they won't contribute the money to move hi down to the village hence their agreement to allow him be buried here in Lagos.

Alright. At least you have done the needful by letting him rest peacefully instead of keeping him in the mortuary while waiting for the right time to take him home.

Ah! Mortuary ke, no no no, that's too much expenses. We just wanted it to be over and done with.
