They show different times, I don't know why but I always connect it (the past represented in postcards like these) with happiness. My grandma also had old postcards and I loved seeing them, she kept them in a box... Thank you @sirenahippie for bringing this to the community :)

I think the same, that postcards convey joy, perhaps in some cases nostalgia due to distance, but I believe that stopping to buy a postcard is done as a gesture of expressing affection.
