we built our house in a quiet place by the sea but recently it has become an increasingly popular tourist destination. and with that the neighbors to the south and west of us now rent huts and light up the place in the night.

when we don't have curtains the lights shine in our bedroom windows
now i am not fond of these extremely bright lights throughout the entire night. i prefer natural darkness with the stars and the moon and these lights ruin the night sky.
but as we say "never so bad that it isn't good for something"- the lights cast shadows onto our mosquito net and through it onto the bedroom wall

so i can do my shadow hunting lying in bed before i go to sleep
these last two shots are looking through the net out the west window. to one unfamiliar with them the shadows may appear unsettling or perhaps even spooky
but to a seasoned shadow hunter they are a welcome and interesting way to end the day
