back in august we had some stormy days. this set of photos of the puddle just outside the entrance to the park that used to be a naval base was taken the day after one of the storms.
this overview is with the stonewall of the park to the right. it's very nice but
what i really want to show are the dramatically different images achieved by moving around just a little. to do this i focused on the maple twig that blew down and was partially floating in the puddle whose surface was not quite still. in this shot the reflections are of the stonewall as well as the twig with its winged seeds
and here is the twig again from a different angle with only the reflection of the clear blue sky.
in this shot the twig looks like a raft with a sail but now appears on the left of the reflection of the sail signboard whereas in the first shot it was on the right. but the twig had not set sail, only i moved to get these different backgrounds
i could not decide which of these last two shots with the background reflection of the red roof tiles should be my entry. this one or
this one. since i had to choose i just picked this one but i would have preferred to enter them both.
