Hello fellow shadowhunters,
Happy new year 2025.
I thought I had already published my shadow hunting post and when I checked I saw that I hadn't written my entry yet and that's why right now I'm rushing to tell you about my first entry to the #SMASh contest of this year 2025.
*My entry to #SMASh contest organized by @melinda010100 *
You might be thinking what a strange shadow. Well, it's a shadow that is actually a work of art by the artist Herminio, Asturian by birth and a neighbour of mine in the village of La Caridad.
Yesterday afternoon, after a few days in the village, I came to Oviedo because it was time to start work and I took the opportunity to contemplate the Christmas lights in an area further away from where I have my flat.
During the walk I found myself in a street where it was indicated that there was an art exhibition of Herminio and I could not miss the opportunity.
Herminio is very versatile, as he works in painting, drawing and sculpture.
But geometry and the play with that geometry is something that can be perceived in all his work.
He is also obsessed with gravity and is one of the few sculptures that play with magnets to achieve incredible effects such as this large block separating from its base without falling.
But the part I liked the most was his shadow paintings.
He plays like no one else with lights and different geometric elements to project on the canvas the shadows and geometric shapes that he sees before anyone else in his privileged mind.
Greetings.
