Good start of the week for all the members of this Architecture + Design community. Today I bring you a modern place dedicated to the exhibition of all kinds of art and different festive and cultural events, El Pabellón Cuba. It is located in the capital's Rampa, on the corner of 23rd and N, in Havana's Vedado. It is a place that stands out for its architectural design and cultural charm. This fairground, surrounded by lush vegetation and exhibition pavilions, has become an important reference in the cultural life of the city.
Buen comienzo de semana para todos los miembros de esta comunidad de Arquitectura + Diseño. Hoy les traigo un moderno lugar dedicado a la exposición de todo tipo de arte y diferentes eventos festivos y culturales, El Pabellón Cuba. Está ubicado en la Rampa capitalina, en la esquina de 23 y N, en el Vedado habanero. Es un lugar que destaca por su diseño arquitectónico y su encanto cultural. Este recinto ferial, rodeado de frondosa vegetación y pabellones expositivos, se ha convertido en un importante referente de la vida cultural de la ciudad.
Entering the Cuban Pavilion, we went up some steps and crossed a small bridge. We appreciate a modern and functional architecture that combines traditional and contemporary elements. Its design is characterized by clean lines, with a distribution that allows a fluid circulation through the different spaces.
Al entrar en el Pabellón de Cuba, subimos unos escalones y cruzamos un pequeño puente. Apreciamos una arquitectura moderna y funcional que combina elementos tradicionales y contemporáneos. Su diseño se caracteriza por líneas limpias, con una distribución que permite una circulación fluida por los diferentes espacios.
One of the most outstanding features of its design is its integration with the surrounding nature. The gardens and green areas surrounding the pavilions display a wide variety of tropical plants and trees, creating a fresh and welcoming atmosphere. These green spaces provide shade and quiet places to rest, inviting visitors to enjoy the natural beauty while visiting the various exhibitions.
Una de las características más destacadas de su diseño es su integración con la naturaleza circundante. Los jardines y zonas verdes que rodean los pabellones muestran una gran variedad de plantas y árboles tropicales, creando un ambiente fresco y acogedor. Estos espacios verdes proporcionan sombra y lugares tranquilos para descansar, invitando a los visitantes a disfrutar de la belleza natural mientras visitan las distintas exposiciones.
This place was created on a multi-level terrain, and this characteristic has been respected by incorporating several stairs and walkways that allow access through the vegetation. It is a beautiful experience to ascend among the green foliage and immerse oneself in a constantly changing natural environment.
Este lugar fue creado en un terreno de varios niveles, y se ha respetado esa característica mediante la incorporación de varias escaleras y pasarelas que permiten acceder a través de la vegetación. Es muy bonita experiencia al ascender entre los verdes follajes y sumergirse en un entorno natural en constante cambio.
The charm of this place lies in its ability to host a wide range of cultural events. From fairs and exhibitions to concerts and theatrical performances, this place is a vibrant center of artistic and creative activity. The exhibitor pavilions, with their versatile structures and adaptable spaces, provide a perfect setting for the display of artwork, craft products, books and much more. Recently, the Cuba Disco 2024 event, which I told you about earlier, was held at the venue.
El encanto de este lugar radica en su capacidad para albergar una amplia gama de eventos culturales. Desde ferias y exposiciones hasta conciertos y presentaciones teatrales, este lugar es un centro vibrante de actividad artística y creativa. Los pabellones expositores, con sus estructuras versátiles y espacios adaptables, ofrecen un escenario perfecto para la exhibición de obras de arte, productos artesanales, libros y mucho más. This Pavilion is known by all Havana residents for its festive and lively atmosphere. During events, you can feel a contagious energy in the air, with live music, laughter and interaction among visitors. It is a place where people can meet, explore new ideas, discover local talent and immerse themselves in the cultural richness of Havana.
Este Pabellón es conocido por todos los habaneros por su ambiente festivo y animado. Durante los eventos, se puede sentir una energía contagiosa en el aire, con música en vivo, risas e interacción entre los visitantes. Es un lugar donde las personas pueden reunirse, explorar nuevas ideas, descubrir talentos locales y sumergirse en la riqueza cultural de La Habana.
In the back patio, where there is a tensoform that covers from the sun, is generally where the stages for musicians and dancers are set up. In addition, there are different kiosks that offer gastronomic services with snacks and fast food, such as rositas de maíz, corn on the cob and ice cream. In the evenings, if the activity is nocturnal, an improvised cabaret is set up, it is very versatile in its use. In the interior of the enclosure, there are cafeterias and small restaurants more comfortable.
En el patio posterior donde se ubica una tensoforma que cubre del sol, generalmente es donde se montan los excenarios para musicos y bailadores. Ademas se instalan diferentes kioscos que ofrecen servicios gastronómicos con meriendas y comidas rápidas, como rositas de maíz, mazorcas y helados. En las noches si la actividad es nocturna se monta un cabaret improvisado, es muy versatil su uso. En el interior del recinto, hay cafeterías y pequeños restaurantes más cómodos.
