Most of the time, knowledge and experience are two qualities that are most important in our daily lives and our careers. Knowledge make us informed through learning , education and research while experience means the use for the knowledge in practice and real life situations. Where knowledge hits the wall is that knowledge procedures may not fully cater for all circumstances and situations while experience also has it’s own shortcomings.
When it comes to understanding the world and the environment it is important to know that knowledge is the basis of it. That way can help us to make various choices, solve issues and think analytically. There is classroom learning and distance learning, literate learning, and learning attained through one’s participation in a workshop or seminar. But that is not always enough in today’s world and certain demanded skills have to be included as well. Experience gives us practical skills, confidence and coping mechanisms for newcomers and the ever changing situations. Working experience on the job prepares people to be able to utilize their acquired knowledge in carrying out proper duties from practical knowledge and experience.
Often, it has been found that experience beats knowledge inasmuch as it provides learners with main ways of how things operate in the real world. For instance, being taught that riding a bike is different from just reading a book and moving on to learn how to balance and ride the bicycle. Likewise, the knowledge on leadership can be dismissed as knowing about leadership and distinguishing it from actually leading a team and knowing how people should be encouraged and guided.
But while experience is accumulated and used for practical performance, knowledge is needed for creativity, search and comprehensive analysis. They can simply think past the box, disregard pre-determined norms and come up with a rational conclusion. If such experiences do not have a coherent knowledge background, it means that they can either be not very profound or not helpful in various effective situations.
What is important to analyze is that each of the two, that is, knowledge and experience has its advantages and disadvantages which, if prevented, will allow to get round their vices and use their pluses to the fullest extent.
Therefore, it can be understood that knowledge and experience are effective weapons when it comes to action that influences the subject’s success at work. Applying theoretical learning with practice results into improvements of individual skills, competences and abilities so that one becomes the best.
