Right now, I feel like I owe my dad a lot for his coming birthday after what went on last weekend. It was mum's birthday yesterday (Sunday) and since I was to travel back to resume work on that day, we decided we had a little activity for her day on Friday Saturday. It's been all fun and memorable for me, I guess it is same for her.
Mum had been a very supportive person towards me in many ways even though she doesn't have much. I can't thank her enough for all that she has been doing and even for the plans she has in store for her children. We have a sad story in the past but every time it comes to mind, I try to prioritise the present moments and it has helped a lot.
This wonderful woman who says I'm her first fruit (there are evidence in the features, I know lol) was born on the 29th of October. I'm still surprised I don't know her exact age but she will be 60 soon and we are hoping to throw a party for her, she's way too excited about it not to plan something for that age hehe.
To celebrate her day, we went on a small outing as she had been saying she needed some items and also a new gown. I didn't have much planned for the expenses but I made sure she got the gown she wanted.
Mum couldn't stop smiling as we went to a shopping mall to get the stuffs she wanted. I used the opportunity to get her a perfume as her birthday gift alongside the gown we got for her later. We did walk about the mall for a while, chatting and laughing about anything we thought about.
A funny side story, the mall was having a discount of 10% off promo for the rest of the year for whoever bought over 8 dollars items. We felt lucky until we got to the counter and was given the excuse that there was network to process the site for discount application or whatever she meant by no network, lame right?.
I didn't remember to take pictures where we got the gown but mum's reaction when she saw the gown she wanted me to buy was beautiful. I thought I was the only one attracted to blue coloured wears in the house, mum too lol. It wasn't a very expensive buy as I had thought it would be so we didn't hold back from getting it.
When we bought the gown, it looked like it needed some ironing to look more presentable when she puts it on for her special day. I took it on myself to spend time ironing it even though I'm the last person to iron a wear in our house, I'm not good at it at all lol. Mum was grateful so it felt like I wasn't doing a too bad job.
I was opportuned to make her a new hairstyle too and I can still remember she said she's going into her new age with all what her daughter got for her, I felt happy hearing her say that. Her day came and we got prepared for church service since it's a Sunday... This is mum on her day ready to show some gratitude to God.
I took a lot of pictures of her as she flaunts her gown happily, wished her a blessed new age and that was it. I got on my journey back to work while she went for a program away from home. For all that it's worth, mum had a good time and her expression says it. A little words from me to her...
Thank you for all you do ma!
May all your efforts not go to waste.
Continue to age in God's love and grace.
Keep being an amazing mother, sister and daughter to the people who loves you too!
Happiest birthday mum!
