Today was a day dedicated to deliveries of chocolates that I make in my small enterprise “Chocolates Alile”. I received the orders the day before and prepared to make two deliveries today, but my son, who is the one who almost always makes the deliveries, was busy. The first delivery was near the Colon Cemetery, on 25th Street between 12th and 10th. The second delivery was in Old Havana, near the Port Captaincy.
Hoy fue un día dedicado a las entregas de bombones que realizo en mi pequeño emprendimiento "Chocolates Alile". Recibí las órdenes el día anterior y me preparé para realizar dos entregas en el día de hoy , pes mi hijo que es quien casi siempre las realiza estaba ocupado. La primera entrega fue cerca del Cementerio de Colón, en la calle 25 entre 12 y 10. La segunda entrega fue en La Habana Vieja, cerca de la Capitanía del Puerto.
Arriving at the first delivery, before crossing 12th Street, I was surprised to see a long line of classic cars, all very well preserved. There was a line of about 5 or 6 classic cars stopped at the traffic light at the entrance to the cemetery, heading for Old Havana, as that is one of their itineraries for tourists who appreciate rides in these cars. It was a very nice view of these cars that have been rolling around Havana for more than 70 years and look like they just came out of the agency, very nice to see.
Al llegar a la primera entrega, antes de cruzar la calle 12, me sorprendió ver una larga fila de autos clásicos, todos muy bien conservados. Había una hilera de unos 5 ó 6 carros clásicos parados en el semáforo que se encuentra en la entrada del cementerio, que iban rumbo a La Habana Vieja, pues ese es uno de sus itinerarios para los turistas que aprecian mucho los paseos en estos autos. Fue una vista muy agradable de estos autos que están rodando por La Habana hace más de 70 años y parecen acabados de sacar de la agencia, muy bonito de ver.
I continued on my way to make the second delivery, which as I told you, was in Old Havana. This is a bit distant, it was in front of where you take the boat to cross the city and get to the neighboring town of Regla, on the other side of the Bay. This is next to the Port Captaincy.
Seguí mi camino para realizar la segunda entrega, que como les dije, era en La Habana Vieja. Esta es un poco distante, era frente a donde se toma la lancha para cruzar la ciudad y llegar al vecino pueblo de Regla, del otro lado de la Bahía. Esto queda junto a la Capitanía del Puerto.
The delivery of the order was behind a small park that I had never noticed before. It really caught my attention that it had a large statue in the center. I didn't know what it was about and went over to look. It turned out to be a bishop of Cyprus. This monument was donated by the people of Cyprus to Cuba, it must have been a short time ago because I had never seen it before.
La entrega del pedido fue detrás de un pequeño parque en el que nunca había reparado. Me llamó mucho la atención que tenía una gran estatua en el centro. No sabía de qué se trataba y me acerqué a mirar. Resultó ser un obispo de Chipre. Este monumento fue donado por el pueblo de Chipre a Cuba, debió ser hace poco tiempo porque nunca lo había visto.
The little park is well kept and quite shady because it has leafy trees and benches under them to make the stay pleasant. The lawn was very well kept and had some palm trees. After resting for a while and sheltering from the sun, which was very hot, I started my way back home.
El parquecito está bien cuidado y es bastante sombreado porque tiene árboles frondosos y bancos debajo de ellos para hacer agradable la estancia. El césped estaba muy bien cuidado y tenía algunas palmeras. Después de descansar un rato y resguardarme del sol, que hacía mucho calor, emprendí el camino de vuelta a casa.
On the way back, when I was arriving at John Lennon Park I saw a lot of movement of people and I realized that it was a “fair” day, it is not a common fair jjj. Around the park are located several multicolored tents where different MSMEs and institutions expose the products they sell and many people come to buy different items.
En el camino de vuelta, cuando estaba llegando al parque John Lennon veo mucho movimiento de personas y me doy cuenta de que es un día de «feria», no es una feria común jjj. Alrededor del parque se ubican varias carpas multicolores donde diferentes MIPYMES e instituciones exponen los productos que venden y mucha gente se acerca a comprar diferentes artículos.
The comfortable thing about this kind of fairs is that they concentrate a variety of items, because prices are still sky high like anywhere else so the comfortable thing is the agglutination of products, nothing else. I walked around for a while but I didn't buy anything haha.
Finally I returned home and I think I not only met the expectations of my customers, but I also enjoyed the process of taking my products to different parts of the city.
Lo cómodo de este tipo de ferias es que concentran variedad de artículos, porque los precios siguen por las nubes como en cualquier otro lado así que lo cómodo es la aglutinación de productos, más nada. Me paseé un buen rato pero no compré nada jaja.
Finalmente regresé a casa y creo que no sólo cumplí con las expectativas de mis clientes, sino que también disfruté el proceso de llevar mis productos a diferentes partes de la ciudad.
