In this post I share my latest scooter I just got in the mail yesterday, my old one is still working but the battery is not as good as she used to be and also it is not the most ideal scooter for a Canadian winter if there could be such a thing.
Long story short I got a driver licence and had cars in the past but the area I live in has constant construction and horrible traffic.
I have been using electric scooters for my daily commute and it has been great I avoid traffic and it saves a lot of money as they are way cheaper and you don't have to pay insurance or parking fees.
I get to work in 15 minutes on the scooter riding through a nice park in a car it would be 20 minutes in a car on a good day and when there is traffic that can be 40+ !
So the scooter is a great solution for me, the only issue is the weather the rain is a bit of a bummer but not critical you just have to be a bit more careful as the surface will be more slippery.
With snow it is a whole different ball game, with a standing scooter it's basically a no go.
And so I decided to get me a new scooter this on comes with a seat and that is a must in the winter that way you can use your feet to catch yourself if you start sliding out of control on a standing scooter you catch yourself on the pavement, beside this critical edition this new scooter is a lot more hefty this added weight along with the seat makes it more stable it also has some more rugged and slightly larger tires these should be helpful too, it also has a dual motor set up so both wheels have a motor but you don't have to use both if you don't want, this may also be helpful in the winter but I have a feeling using that feature can make it even worse as with both motors engaged this thing can really haul.
Over all I am happy with it so far I took it out today to see how it handles it did great but to be fair it was not too bad but I think it will still do alright, the only complaint I have with it is ...
The orange and red buttons are for eco mode and for dual motor control, there is no visual indication of the status of the buttons besides them getting pressed in a few millilitres when engaged on top of that since I plan to use this thing in the winter I will be wearing gloves these 2 buttons are hard to press and one can end up pressing the wrong button sending you flying or leaving you hanging at the worst time.
I don't think it will be much of a problem as I will be very careful in the snow and mostly stick to the slow eco mode.
Anyway that is about it I hope this thing serves me well and that I ride it safely and don't get hurt, I still have my old scooter and it works, I will just give it to my friend, I will have him come when the weather is a bit better as I mentioned before this older scooter is far from ideal for snowy conditions.
