Welcome to my 3d printing adventures, Oh man I don't know what is going on with my Prusa printer, when I bough it (used) it was working great but slowly I ran into issue after issue.
I thought I finally got it sorted but then again I had this feeling a few times already and unfortunately a new issues sprung up, I was struggling with it but I got it sorted I got it going and what do you know...
I managed to get a few prints out and then I hear a beep, the printer stops and it shows the message above on the screen... This means the printer stopped itself because it encountered a critical error in my case it appears the thermistor that tells the printer it's hot end temperature is loosing contact probably due to a damage to one of the wires... the good news is that I should have a fair bit of spare ones and it's a fairly easy fix but damn I am getting pretty fed up with all the drama it's causing me but it's a very good printer I hope after I fix this it will not give me issues and deliver that nice print quality.
My other older printer is also still broken so I am back to 3 out of 5 (not counting the resin liquid printer) I am confident I will get it fixed but it was giving me some print quality issues for a while and I am not sure I have what it takes to get that sorted but I will give it a shot.
So far I have been able to fix a lot of different issue so I will at least give it ago I am grateful for it because It did help when I only had this and the orange prusa and I printed a part to bring the prusa back to life, but either way now I got 3 other machines that are better and in full working condition.
3d printing has gotten way more accessible and easy but it's still not that simple I have had many printers over the years and I can tell you that I had issues with each one and even now I sometimes get issues they are usually not that serious and more of a nuisance and often it's user error and I fail to spot issues with the models before starting a print or the print doesn't stick well to the bed or the edges lift.
I get this drama at work too. I work with a disabled man and he is very creative and artsy much like my self, he was 3d modeling for a while now and recently got a 3d printer I help him with it and for the most part he is good to go with it but last week I came in and I see that he forgot to replace the magnetic heat bed before clicking print and the printer starting digging into itself, he managed to turn it off eventually but it still did some damage he was afraid it was broken but It was alright just a bit of damage from the hot end melting away some parts, I had to scrape off a bit of molten material but it was more or less ok after my fix.
