Greetings everyone!
The topic of this week centered on men's gifts on Valentine's Day made me sit and think.
"Have I ever received a gift as a Valentine's gift?"
No, I haven't, and I'm sure I'm not the only one at this table.🥱
Well, the issue of ladies finding it hard to select a perfect gift for a guy is one that has been with us since time immemorial. As we know, the average African lady settles on boxer shorts and a singlet, and if she goes the extra mile, it wouldn't be above an average budget wristwatch or perfume. I wonder why it's always difficult for them to think beyond the box, things like a car for the guy.
Oh, I know why, it's because these things are expensive, and these ladies have a fixed budget, I mean an agreed budget set by their association. Lol😅
As for me, I'm someone who takes every little gift seriously, maybe that's because I haven't been gifted once. However, I wouldn't want my fiancée to go about with the general ladies' thing. I like a different thing entirely. I mean, it mustn't be in the category of a singlet, boxer shorts, or perfume.
The following are a list of things I'd greatly consider:
- A pair of shoes (leather or sneakers):
I'm the shoe type; I love to wear shoes, and if home training permits, I would wear shoes to sleep.
My lady gifting me shoes will spark up my heart. It'll add to my collection, which gives me the room to change and not be noted for wearing the same shoes always. I don't go out often except for church, and with the modern church lifestyle, dressing is one of those things...
Shhhhh!🤫
I know you want to shush me and say church is not about dressing. Well, in my part of the world, churching has evolved greatly, and it's not good to dress shabbily to church.
- A complete suit/A complete native wear:
Am I going too far? No, not at all. Making or buying a complete suit is something that should be doable by a lady who considers me her heartthrob. I love this suit of a thing; in fact, I have them in many designs and colors, and I always want to add more. Many times, I love to appear smart.
The same thing goes for native wear; I love different styles. These native wears are mainly for parties, and I don't like appearing casual at a party. I like to appear bugus even though I don't have a dime in my pocket.
With the current rate of the dollar, $20 should be able to buy any of these. Is that too much?? No!
- Just spoil me with food:
Instead of buying the singlet or boxer shorts, just use the money to spoil me with food, I mean a well-goat-meated garnished soup with eba. I'll be very okay....afterall, food is one of the ways to a man's heart
At least if the lady can't afford the first two items mentioned, the latter one will cover it up.
Can't you see? I'm very cheap and don't cost a dime to please. Lol😅
Thank you for reading.
