Description from Strava:
I was still feeling the effects of parkrun, but I need to get in a long run to stretch my legs. It had been raining, but it stayed dry whilst I was out.
It was one of my usual routes starting off with the hill up to Fairfield. I do not really push hard on these runs, but I would like to get under 6min/km. I was doing that at times today, but could not sustain it.
I saw quite a few other runners including one guy running with his little girl who only looked about 6 or 7. I expect she would not run very far, but some kids are really quick. We get some 12 year olds at parkrun as well as the oldies.
Some of the paths are a little overgrown, so I have to watch out for nettles. On the straight track across the fields I saw a few rabbits who hopped away as I approached.
Considering we have a general election in a couple of weeks there are very few posters on display. I did see a couple of flags out that will be for the Euro footie.
My hayfever has been triggered a little today, so I took a tablet. I need to get out in the garden. The chickens need cleaning out.
It is father's day. I had a box of beers from my daughter and am seeing my dad later. Here's to all the dads out there!
Run free.
