Gesture Drawings on A3 Sheets.

Hi everyone!

It's been a while since I made a post about gesture drawings - but I've made a few!

This time the experience was on A3 format. The point was to be able to draw very wide and use the shoulder for the most part, which gives very dynamic curves.
I immediately felt the difference in my approach to drawing; my arm was free to make big gestures and it allowed me to concentrate on big shapes and not on details as we can do with a smaller format.

I felt like I was drawing with chalk on a white board because I was using my pencil like that :)

I tried to think: what is the main movement on the figure ? what energy is pushing the body and in which direction ? What are the counter movements for balance? (what we can call contrapposto)

I invite you, artists, to try this experience to improve your dynamic drawing skills. Just big A3 sheets, or even A2! Just use a pencil and let yourself go. Besides, it feels good!
