Figure drawing session.

Hi everyone!

I try to vary my figure drawing session with 2 different exercises; one focusing on gesture, quick sketches, looking for dynamics, and the other a more classical study of the body, in a more realistic approach.

So today's session is the academic one; I hold my pencil and close one eye to measure the proportions and look for the parralels or perpendicular lines, I compare parts with other parts,...

Here I keep a single contour drawing without shading as I prefer to work on my line for the moment. I still struggle with good shading in sketches, I think it ruins my drawings rather than enhancing them. So I think I will do an exercise based on shading only to study this aspect more specifically.

The sketch below is a little off in terms of proportions, as it looks like she has managed to detach her head from her body and is holding it in her hands 😅 That was a tricky pose to draw.
