Building Some Halo Sets - Part 2

in Toys on Hive6 months ago

Continuing this multi-build project today didn't go too bad, I started off with Countdown, a set that actually came with the Sabre rocket that I bought the other day.

Sadly, there is a plate missing, however, I didn't let it stop me from continuing. I'm going down to the shop tomorrow when they open, to ask if they have it. Before buying the bags of Lego, I asked had anyone else bought any and they said no, so by all rights, it should be down there. Or, it wasn't apart of the bundle when it was handed in.

The centre plate isn't too big of a deal anyway, as the connecting bars help to keep its shape.

It is very dusty, so the previous owner must have had these items on display for years. I'm not cleaning it until I assemble these sets, then I'll tear them down individually, clean, reassemble, and get them ready for pictures.

Being assembled now, it looks impressive.

I had to stand back to get this shot.

It looks really cool, but of course, the centre piece will be the rocket. The set is only really there for some added texture.

The right it a small control tower, or at least it will be when it's done.

I moved on from there and started constructing this small model.

ODST Ambush. I have the two figures, and weapons that come with this one. I didn't take a picture of it complete, sadly, but here it is nearly finished.

I finished off the gun for this tower I was building yesterday.

I actually put it away last night, because I was exhausted, and really didn't want to go routing through boxes for pieces.

When sorting, I put all of the vehicle pieces - or what I assumed to be vehicle pieces - into one box, but now that I know more, I went and separated that pile into relative bags.

This tower looks fairly cool now, with the gun on top.

It's part of a larger set, which I'll show you in the coming photos.

I stuck with this set today, for my main focus.

UNSC Firebase.

Like the other ones, I have all of the figures and weapons, now I just need to organise them with their sets.

These are two small tower pieces, awaiting the final touch.

The gatehouse.

This is really cool looking, but it's not finished yet, fully.

I'm cutting down on the pool of Lego, which is making the entire process so much easier.

Here's the back of the gate house.

It's a really cool play set, and I think I'll sell this one with the addition of a Warthog, and maybe a Ghost to sweeten the deal. Also, I can cut down on some of the bulk.

I looked at the picture, and realised that I had some bits backwards, so had to do the ole switch-a-roo.

These pieces are attached to each plate, and allows for them to be connected together.

It's a really cool feature. There are also clips at the top which help to lock them down and stabalise them.

Here's the tower attached to the gatehouse.

There are other bits and pieces to place in this set, but I'm waiting to include them upon its completion.

I'll be honest, I didn't have confidence moving forward with the final tower, because I didn't think I had enough bricks left in the pile.

I was shocked, but I got it to the second story, and there still seems to be a bunch of bricks leftover.

There are a few bits and pieces not included, because I actually put all of the really small pieces into another bag, thinking they were apart of another set.

Also, I actually changed the transparent mirror, for a dark one like the others.

Here's the inside of this new tower, and as you can see, I placed one of the small computer terminals inside.

There are other things like that to add, but I'll get to that on my next pass.

Here's all three pieces together, but not clipped together properly.

The terrain doesn't seem to set right together, so I'm going to have to do another pass of this, and after cleaning it I'll rebuild it - hopefully - right.

I need to work on the other set now, so I can find some of the small pieces I need to finish this one off completely.

I'm thrilled with how this one turned out; I need to know whether or not these sets are complete, or incomplete before selling them, so I can price accordingly.

Due to that, I'm actually looking forward to the re-building process.

Hi, do you run the @meme.bot because I think there's a problem with it.

No, @captaincryptic runs that. I've tried contacting him over discord the last week but no response yet.

Oh right, yeah it's just that I've been getting notifications that it's upvoting the same post of mine for the last 5 days or so, I'd say around 50-100 upvotes per day.

Sorry. My guess is that it is an automated script that somehow is stuck.

I've removed the @memehive HP delegation to @meme.bot. I don't know if that will at least partial solve the problem or not. My hope is that there's a lower boundary vote mana at which the bot stops upvoting so it can recharge. Maybe taking away the 1,759 HP will be enough to slow it down.
