I started constructing one of the larger sets from the most recent bundle I picked up, that being the Pelican Dropship.
It has always been one of my favourite ships of any game franchise.
Two troop transport drop ships stick out to me as being my favourite above all else. The Pelican, and the LAAT Gunship from star wars.
Some sections were already together, which made it kind of easy to assemble, but there was a lot of messing around to ensure that everything was accounted for before moving on.
Within a few minutes I had the walls built up on the ship.
Most of the decals are still present and I had to take care to place bricks that had them attached, in the correct area.
At this stage, I had the interior of the ship enclosed.
I couldn't get a good picture of it, but there are chairs inside the body of the ship, for the characters to sit in.
With the wings and the back piece on it really started to shape up.
It's fairly large, and it has a nice bit of weight to it. For something that is 10-15 years old, it's in surprisingly good nick, and it's nice to see that the decals are still firmly attached.
With the rear engines, front turret, and a few small pieces all on it, it was complete.
It's a beast of a thing. This, and the Elephant are the two large sets from the collection I picked up.
There is one more kind of large ship, but it's nowhere near as big as this one.
Here is the inside of the ship.
It's not the best angle but you can kind of see what I mean.
The ramp at the back allows for figures to be positioned on it.
You can actually see through there into the small interior section.
Here are all of the figures alongside the ship.
This comes with three Spartans and a pilot. They're all fairly cool looking, and this set would be perfect for a diorama of some kind.
It's currently on display in my office, but I'll have it photographed and listed soon, along with a bunch of other sets I have ready to photograph.
This goes for around 120 - 150, but I have seen it go for as much as 200 if it's complete, and luckily this one is.
I'll have to really research it before listing it, because I don't want to undercut myself. Even having it on the high side, there's nothing stopping an interested buyer placing an offer of a bit less.
I don't mind negotiating with buyers so we can come to a deal that leaves us both satisfied.
