OPPORTUNITIES NEVER STOP SHOWING UP

Seeing smiles on my family members' faces is always more than enough for me. The joy in celebration and the bond that grows amongst us daily is exceptional. My cousin has been with us for a month and her staying with us is the best part of it all because she sows. And hey, she's no ordinary seamstress, she's a fashionista as well.
“Hey Samuella, are you gonna come check out this new style of mine? Flora called out to me. “I'm coming, cousin; it's not like I have a choice; if I don't come to check, you'll make me check it while I'm sleeping,” I said as I ran off to meet her.
“Silly you” she giggled.
Yeah, this is what goes on every day; today, It's just checking up on a style; tomorrow, it's checking out blending colors and matching outfits. I'm telling you it's never-ending fashion here. My elder brother wouldn't even send her so she knows who to call whenever she wants some fashion ideas. The most crazy part of it is that I barely know anything about fashion design. I just give in to her ideas, and if it turns out great, she praises me, but if it doesn't work out, then she'll sob and blame me for the rest of the day.

Mom and Dad are always finding our drama a little childish but we've never mind at all. Flora and I make the house more lively than me and my brother. I enjoy her company a lot, not until she starts chasing me around with a dead cockroach.
“Flora, pls, stop; I beg of you,” I screamed while running away from her and the dead cockroach, but she wouldn't listen and still kept on chasing. It fell from her hand and with a piece of cloth. I went to carry it and chase after her. That's when I realized that she's also scared of the cockroach because the way she runs is crazy. There's no way you won't stop laughing seeing her run the way she does.

These happy moments stayed the way they did until Flora returned someday, looking completely pale.
“My dear, what happened to you? Why are you looking miserable?” Mom asked. “I'm ok, Ma; I'm just stressed. I want to go in and rest now. It's been a tiresome day.” She sighs and goes to her room. Throughout that day, Flora didn't come out of her room; she just locked herself in there and didn't do much of her work anymore. The material Mom had given her to sew she just returned it and didn't see it again. Her attitude and behavior became questionable, but all she could reply was, “I'm fine. Nothing is wrong with me”.
Nothing went the way it used to anymore; everything changed and Flora changed as well.
“Flora, pls come out; I want to talk to you; there's this style I need you to craft for me. Please, come check out.” I would call out to her every day, but there was no reply. We even pranked her the other day that a flying cockroach flew into her room, and yes, it did work. She ran out of her room in fear, but when she realized it was a prank, she went back inside, slamming the door in our faces.
No one knew why she acted as though she was “away with the fairies,” but we were soon going to find out about it.

That morning, we made Dad call Flora, knowing fully well that even if she refused everyone, she wouldn't refuse Dad, and truly, she didn't. Dad took her to his room to talk to her while My brother Sam and I went in to search for if there could be any proof that would have caused her to suddenly neglect her work towards home and her career as well.
“Hey Samuella, come check this out; this is the letter from the fashion company Flora applied for,” Sam called out to me holding a paper that had been partly soaked with water. I gasped on seeing it then slowly I opened it and started reading. After I was done I could feel hot tears rolling down my cheek as I realized that Flora had been rejected in a very miserable way.

“Sam, can you believe that after all her day and toil of making that beautiful design, she was rejected?” I sobbed. Now I understand why she's been this way. Oh, poor Flora, she couldn't even tell anyone. “We should inform Mom and Dad about this. They will know the best way to bring her around. Mom should be able to console her that this is not the end.” That's true, Sam, let's go.

“Everyone tries a lot, and it doesn't necessarily mean we succeed . All we need to do is try again at every point we fail. Once a door closes, another opens, and opportunities never stop showing up”. I soliloquized to myself as we walked out of the room.
