My enemies are after my life

"Jesus!" Loretta screamed aloud, with her body shivering out of shock, finding it hard to believe the mistake and loss she just incurred. It was very early morning around 5:30 am on a Friday and her best friend, Vera who came to spend the week in her house, jacked up from sleep as soon as she heard the shout.

"What's that? You had a nightmare?" Vera was scared at how her friend was shivering, she went on to put on the light which brightened the room and she saw Loretta dropping tears. She shifted close to her with her arms resting on Loretta's shoulder.

"I just lost $2,100, my whole savings"

"$2,100?! How?!" Vera's ears couldn't believe what they just heard.

"It's actually in BTC and I wanted to move it to another wallet and that's how I transferred to a wrong net...net... network" She stammered and burst into more tears

Vera went on to console her, knowing the weight of such loss.
"I would have suggested finding ways to get it back but I know how crypto transaction works, once there's an error, the money is gone. Take heart, you'll surely earn more than that."

That early morning became the worst morning for Loretta, she laid on bed with her eyes filled with tears and her pillow soaked with tears. Vera tried as much as possible to cheer her up but it didn't just work, it was as if her world just crumbled. The $2,100 worth of BTC was all she'd been saving her entire life.

"Please you need to get up for work, remember your position and the kind of boss you have. Or better, call your boss to inform him of your condition this morning" Vera said as she noticed the time had reached 8:00am already. Her advice didn't get to Loretta who was still lying down in tears.

"You didn't hear me? Time is almost 8:30am and you're late already. You want to lose your job as well?" Vera shouted as she came out of the bathroom to meet her still lying in bed.
She reached for Loretta's phone which was at the end of the bed and stretched the phone to her "Call your boss or send an SMS to him that you're not coming to work today"
Loretta sluggishly collects the phone only to see '8 missed calls' displayed on the screen. Out of shock, she quickly unlocked the phone and saw that it was her boss that has been calling and her phone was on silent mode. At that moment, she knew she had messed up already, she got up, rushed to the bathroom, took a shower, wore her wears and ran off while Vera was looking at her and laughing like she was watching a movie.

On the way to the office, Loretta's mind was divided, a bit of her mind was still mourning her loss while the other part was hoping the numerous missed calls by her boss and her deep lateness to work wouldn't result in something negative. The cab she was in was moving very fast, there was no traffic jam on the road.

At about 9:45am, she got to the office, quickly rushed to her boss's office and she met him there glued to his computer system on the desk.
"Sir, please I'm so sorry, I had a terrible morning that I forgot myself and didn't know when your calls came in" She rushed her pleas with a sympathetic tone expecting her boss to ask her what happened but no, instead the boss started with laughter as he turned his face to face her. "Hehehe. Your pleas are not necessary"

"This is your letter, it's for you, take it" He stretched his hand to her with a brown envelope.

"Don't tell me it's a sac letter"

"You're funny hehe. What are you expecting, a letter of promotion? Do you know the business deal we missed because of your absence and you didn't pick up the call? For God's sake, I called you eight times!" The earlier laughter was turned to anger tone and Loretta didn't know whe she grabbed the letter, opened it and thick tears rolled down.
Mr Moscow, her boss didn't mind, he has seen a lot of that. He got back to his computer system and he told her to leave when she was done reading and dropping tears.
She stood on the spot, wanted to say a word but her mouth remained heavy, she couldn't just bear all the pain. After like 3mins on the spot, she cleaned her tears with a handkerchief and walked away. She didn't say a word to anybody in the office, she walked past her colleagues, walked to the roadside where she would get a cab back home and suddenly a motorcycle carrying a big sized sack, carelessly and staggered in her direction where one side of the sack hit her right hand holding her phone and the phone fell to the ground.

"God punish you!" Her phone was still on the ground and she left it to try stopping the motorcycle but the bike man was fast enough to drive off without her grabbing the bike. She returned to the spot to pick up her phone and she met the screen cracked beyond recognition.
At that moment, it dawned on her that the domino effect is not ordinary, her enemies were after her life and she needs to be careful before she gets killed along the way. She didn't feel bad after the phone saga, her superstition belief came into play and she needed to play carefully before her enemies killed her.

She decided to stop at a local shop close to the area and bought a Coca-Cola drink to calm herself before looking for a better way to go home, at least, to confuse her enemies that were after her life.
