Kiki and her mum woke up very early in the morning getting ready for Kiki’s examination. Kiki was posted to a school very far from her house. If I’m not mistaken, it’s twenty kilometers away from her house. The fifteen year old Kiki could not go there all by herself so her mother decided to go with her.
What about your writing materials? Is everything ready?, her mum asked her while the little girl nodded her head.
Kiki’s examination was scheduled for 6:30am in the morning because there are five batches of examination that will go on on that day so it’s better to be early. Kiki and her mum left home exactly at 4:00am in the morning. The traffic was crazy because it’s a national examination for students who are about to finish their high school programme.
On getting there, Kiki and her mum met a lot of people. It would have been better if they were just waiting for their names to be called into the examination hall but they met everyone hissing and frowning their faces.
Hello ma, please what’s going on and are they about to start the examination?, Kiki’s mum asked a woman who also brought her child to write the examination too.
We were told that they haven’t brought the exam in papers and we are just fifteen minutes to the examination time, the woman said to Kiki’s mum and they all waited.
After an hour, the kids were allowed into the examination hall and that was by 7:15am but they were supposed to finish the examination by 7:30am. Due to that, the kids were only given thirty minutes to write the examination but something else happened.
While the kids were writing their examination, the light went off. They were using the government light and it went off so they tried to on the generator but it wasn’t working.
The parents were so furious because they expected all of these to have been sorted but it’s surprising that they still have to experience all of these.
Dear parents, we are very sorry for the inconvenience we have caused you so far. We know the examination time has passed and the kids may have to start all over again but we’re deeply sorry and we are trying so hard to make sure that the generator comes on. Just give us a few minutes, one of the examination officials came out to address the parents, but the parents were not finding it funny because they all had other things to attend to.
After a few minutes, the generator came on and the kids continued their examination but another thing came up. The network was bad and they all could not access the server anymore. It was so annoying and the kids were very angry about that center.
Hello sir. This is so unfair. You delayed the examination, your generator was bad and now, we cannot access your server. This examination is supposed to last one hour but we’re spending over five hours already, one of the examination candidates stood up and said to the invigilator.
The invigilator was trying to be stubborn at first bit later succumbed because other candidates also said the same thing and he later took the blame. Finally, they were able to connect to the server and that was around 12:00pm. All of the candidates had to start all over again. The examination was so tiring because all of them have been sitting on their various chairs for over five hours and a lot of them already got tired of the whole thing and do not even feel like writing the examination anymore.
Finally, they all begun the examination again and everything went well. The parents were so happy to see their kids when they got out of the hall. Every parent kept asking their kids if they gave it their best in the examination.
After two weeks, the examination results were released. Kiki’s mum checked her daughter’s result and she did very well.
Even though you were stressed on the examination day, we faced so many problems and it was like a higgledy-piggledy examination but thank you for making me proud of you, Kiki’s mum said to her daughter and they both hugged each other.
Just to give her daughter a good treat, Kiki’s mum took her on a ice-cream date and she enjoyed it but also thanked her mum for always being there for her.
Kiki also came out as one of the best performances for the higgledy-piggledy examination.
