Would you ever lie about your age to impress or influence someone? Explain.
Hmm why would people do that?
For starters, I don't think it's difficult to infer my age. I have mentioned a range in some of my posts, and have hinted in some of my chats as well. But for those who are still wondering, I am somewhere in the 30s.
I don't think I will lie about my age to people. Somehow I feel that 30s is kind of like a nice range, not too mature or old, but not too young and naive either. People in their 30s probably have made some progress in their careers, having worked for a decade or so, and would have some experience to manage what the world throws them. Hopefully, there is some accumulation of savings as well. So it's like a sweet spot.
Anyway, let's imagine one day I would want to lie.. There's only two options right? It's either older or younger.
If I were to tell people I am in my 40s or even 50s, I think there is a decent chance that people might not believe either. So that lie would be easily exposed anyway. But why would I want to appear to be older? I have no idea.
If I were to tell people I am in my 20s, I also think there is a decent chance that people might not believe either. I might look a few years younger than my actual age (in my opinion, haha!), but stretching it to the 20s zone is just too farfetched. And there's the same question as well, why would I want to be appear younger? I have no idea.
Ultimately, regardless of whether I will be easily exposed from my looks, or if I stand to score any benefits, my take is still honesty is the best policy.
Speaking of deception, it reminds me of this Pokemon. It's not a common one, but this is the Galarian version of Mr Mime. On the official page, its description goes like this:
Its talent is tap-dancing. It can also manipulate temperatures to create a floor of ice, which this Pokémon can kick up to use as a barrier.
The random back story of this was one day I was feeling down after work, and I chanced upon one of the claw machines which had some Pokemons inside. So I thought I could distract from all the negative thoughts by trying my luck at catching the Pokemons. And among all the different Pokemons in that machine, this was the one that got my attention and I managed to catch it after a few tries! And my mood was lifted. So the question is, did this Mr Mime perform some deception trick on me? I guess we will never know.
Alright, that's all from me this weekend! Thanks for reading!
