What would you rather be doing instead of what you're actually doing this weekend and why?
Like most people, I took a break at the end of 2023. For me, I went to Bali, Indonesia. This was my second time there - I first visited Bali in 2019, before the pandemic happened, and I really enjoyed my stay in Bali, so I knew I had to return to Bali when the travel restrictions were lifted. And I did it!
And I really enjoyed myself this time as well! So much so that I would rather be chilling in Bali and re-living my holiday this weekend, instead of doing the usual routine stuff in Singapore. (I mean, don't get me wrong, it's nothing bad doing my usual routine stuff but in comparison, a holiday in Bali would be more awesome!)
Instead of a villa, I booked myself a hotel this time with an awesome swimming pool! This was the view from my hotel balcony!
I remembered myself spending most of my mornings just chilling on the deck chairs, getting some tan, and having some dips in the water, which was rather warm thanks to the scorching weather!
The gate at the back end of the hotel led to the beach and it was just so therapeutic watching kids play football, tourists chilling on the sand, and listen to the waves crashing onto the shore.
One of the highlights of my trip was to catch the sunset on one of the evenings! I mean - I know the sun rises and sets every day, but it's really a different feeling when you are on holiday and are at the beach!
Fireworks! This photo definitely didn't do justice to the actual thing! On New Year's Eve, there were fireworks being set off on the beach, and the grand finale was during 12 midnight! It was so crowded but I really enjoyed the atmosphere and fireworks show!
And of course, you can't forget about the yummy food when you are in Bali. That said, I think Bali is quite a touristy place so I was a little shocked that the prices were quite steep actually. Perhaps it's all because it's nearing the New Year. Here's some food photos! Hehe!
All in all, it was an unforgettable getaway in Bali and it's definitely a weekend which I would love to experience again, and again! Definitely not ruling out another trip to Bali soon! Hehe!
