Hello Hivernauts
This weekend on Christmas Eve, I went to walk around the main square of my city, the historic Plaza Bolivar in the heart of the Casco Historico. This is a magical place full of history that I was always taken to when I was a kid.
Last week I was visiting the Metropolitan Cathedral and didn't have time to walk around the square, so this Saturday I decided to come back a day before Christmas to enjoy the Christmas decorations that the municipality prepared this year to decorate the square.
I came just in time to watch the sunset and enjoy the lights and decorations in all their splendor. As the sun went down and night fell, the lights and decorations came to life and became more and more spectacular.
Little by little the place was filling up with visitors, families arrived with their children to take pictures in the different scenarios that evoke the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, the arrival of St. Nicholas and the traditional western Christmas.
I approached to talk to some people and helped them to take family pictures, I was fascinated to see the smiles of the children marveled with these decorations that made your imagination fly.
The contrast between the history of the place, its ancient statues and monuments dedicated to the liberators, wrapped in this Christmas decoration that illuminated the whole place with flashes of all colors, is something overwhelming and exciting.
Seeing so many children playing and running around trying to be on all the stages at the same time, reminded me of my own childhood when I used to visit this square.
It has been a mind-blowing experience that I definitely wanted to share with all of you.
I hope you had a great weekend and a wonderful Christmas.
See you next time!
