We've only loosely discussed what we'll be doing, mostly just hanging out, BBQ's, some kayaking

This is da way. I feel like people overplan often when people come to visit to the point where we kind of lose sight of the fact that the real reason for getting together in the first place is to see the people, not to be a tour guide. I'm sure you'll have a great time. I will soon be visiting my own family for the first time in years really soon as well. it's been too long.
