Today is Easter Sunday, so Happy Easter, everyone! We'll be spending today resting and simply focusing on the holiday. In preparation for this, we did the bulk of our celebrating yesterday.
It was my nephew's 9th birthday, so we all got together and had a nice Easter dinner consisting of ham, macaroni and cheese, deviled eggs, rolls, candied bacon and asparagus sautéed in lemon juice. It was delicious! The kids were picky eaters, of course, and were still intermittently grazing on macaroni and cheese 10 minutes after all of the adults finished their meals.
The kids were getting impatient while my brother-in-law and I hid eggs around the yard.
I had fun hiding eggs in some odd spots. 😆
The kids were unleashed, and joyful chaos ensued as shouts of joy and laughter filled the air!
Everyone was in a good mood, having fun and helping the kids find eggs. The kids even helped each other and shared their eggs, so nobody had too few.
I can proudly say that out of the dozen or so eggs I hid, six of them remained unfound until I guided the kids on a last look around for any straggler eggs.
One of my sons couldn't wait and immediately began going through what he found.
My youngest son snuck into the upstairs part of the barn, grabbed a construction helmet, popped it on, and decided it was time to "work off" all the candy he had eaten. 😆
It was a lot of chaos, but all in all it was a lot of fun!
I hope you all have a Happy Easter and make some great memories!
