Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” Acts 7:56.

CONTROLLING THOUGHT:

It's true that one day everyone will be departing this world; but the question is, who is expecting you?

MAIN DISCOURSE:

When you know someone special is waiting for you somewhere, you will be excited to meet with such a one.

What if you were told that your creditor was at your residence waiting for you just to get back his money?

The truth is that you wouldn't feel like going home because someone you did not expect is expecting you.

Our text for today tells us what happened just before Stephen (one of the deacons of the early church) was killed. He saw in a vision the heavens opened and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

Stephen was filled with joy knowing that the trinity was waiting for his return to eternity.

The question this morning is: who is waiting for you? Is it Jesus, just as in the case of Stephen, or the demons in hell?

When you remember heaven and hell, the fear that overwhelms you reveals where you're being expected to go.

Do you know you can actually determine who expects you and where you will go after your life on earth with the kind of life you're living now?

If you live according to the gospel of Christ, you're headed to the right place (Heaven). But if you're living contrary to that, you're headed to the wrong destination (Hell).
