TEXT:

The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”
Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” Genesis 3:12-13.

CONTROLLING THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Trying to give God excuses is a waste of time. God doesn't accept excuses.

MAIN MESSAGE:

God, knowing full well what man is capable of, said in His word, "Oh man you are inexcusable". Romans 2:1.This means that man has no excuse to give.

Our text for today tells us about the aftermath of the disobedience of Adam and his wife Eve. They had both disobeyed God's instruction not to eat of the tree in the middle of the garden.

After they ate it, God came down and asked them why they did so. Adam blamed the woman (Eve) for giving him the fruit; the woman accused the serpent of deceiving her.

Despite the excuses they gave, God punished them for disobeying Him.

Beloved, God considers excuses a waste of time and energy.

Most people are engaged in dirty acts like crime, prostitution and many other ungodly things. They refer to economic hardship as their excuse. But the truth is, God does not accept excuses.

If you inquire of certain persons why they were not in church, they'll tell you that they don't have an offering to give God.

On the judgement day, even if you come with billions of excuses, none will be accepted because the Lord had already said, "Oh man you are inexcusable".

It's better to do the right thing before God than to give excuses when things gets bad.

CALL TO SURRENDER:

If you would like to give your life to Jesus, you can do so by saying this prayer:

"Lord Jesus, I come to you a sinner. I ask that You forgive my sins. I accept you into my heart as my Lord and personal saviour. Thank You for saving me, in Jesus' name. Amen."

PRAYER:

Father, may I always remember that You do not accept excuses, and help me live in the light of this fact, in Jesus' name - Amen.
