Good day to everyone in the blockchain. Thank you @ericvancewalton for memorable opportunity and enlightenment of awakening us to the sense of accountability and record keeping through the introduction of the #memoirmonday challenge. It is a good one and an opportunity to have a documentation of historic events in one's life.
Please if you are not already on this mental transforming challenge, you can use this link
As a young lady, there are many things that make me worry. The fear of the uncertain future; the fear of how marital life would be; the fear over economic challenges; the fear of untold realities of life, and a lot more, all these are capable of making a young lady who still has a greater part of her life in the future to pursue, worry.
One of my major worries is the future of my country, Nigeria. There have been many unfolding events that put fears in the hearts of the younger generation.
The Impending Woes Of Corruption Eaten Economy
I worry about what will be the fate of Nigeria in the coming days considering how bad and damning corruption has eaten deep into the soul of our economic life. We are living in a country where some people have squandered the funds meant for infrastructural development and left us with an depreciating infrastructure which one can’t even be sure could survive a few years more.
What would be the state of power in a country where much funds had been sunk into power generation only to come and discover that one or two politicians pocket the money. What will our power supply look like? This is my worry.
I worry for the generation coming after me seeing that the education system has virtually died a natural death. How will the future of our children be when they won't be seeing school to learn skills, proper communication, social norms and economic principles? From where will we raise professionals and reliable hands to handle the affairs of our nation? This is my greatest worry.
In the presence of bad roads with little or no genuine efforts to repair, I fear for the future of my country. At such a young age I’m living in such a country with depleting infrastructures and amenities, what will be our fate in the future?
Threat To National Unity And Insecurity Challenges
Who would say I should not worry when life in the nation has been so plaqued with insecurity and insurgency. We are threatened by some unscrupulous elements who claim they will victimize us. Our coexistence as a nation has been out to test. We don't know how far we are from a possible breakage. Is it in these my days that Nigeria will tear apart? If it does, what will life be like. How will it look like living in certain parts of the country. This is a major fear that causes me to worry.
Answering the question:
What do you worry about?
from the #memoirmonday prompt for week 5 /6 - 5 /12, as hosted by @ericvancewalton, I thus submit the above as my main worries. Thank you for reading my post. I will appreciate a react by way of airing out your thoughts. Thank you.
