New Curation process
- In my previous post, I talked about supporting Hive community members by sending them Hive to their wallet
- With this post, I'll explain the new curation process.
I've created a discord bot

- Here I've added over 61 communities.
- Verified Curators & Community moderators can join the discord server
- Once they've joined, they can start curating for the community of their choice.
Unfollowing all the curation trails
- Yes. I've unfollowed all the curation trails at the moment.
- Curation trails have couple of disadvantages.
- If a curation trail account, upvotes self content, curation-trail blindly follows & upvote.
- If a curation trails keep upvoting same author over & over, curation-trail blindly follows & upvote.
- And these are just 2 examples. What if I want to add more checks?
- This is only possible by designing a custom curation method based on checks needed.
Which 61 Communities? Is it max?
- I'm planning to add more and more communities.
- So far, I've added 61 communities as listed below.
Who has joined so far?
- So far there are approx 50+ members in the discord
- I've added following 21 curators.

How to check my voting manabar?
- In the discord server, you can keep an eye on the status of the bot.
- It shows my account (@sagarkothari88)'s current voting manabar.
- It refreshes every minute.
How to get access for curation?
- After joining the Discord server, you would find a text-channel named
#intro-for-curation - Please introduce yourself there as a curator.
- Provide your hive-username & the list of communities in which you may want to curate.
- @bhattg & I'll take care of the rest. We'll add you to right channels for curation.
- NOTE: You must be either a moderator of the community OR approved curator of the community.
- Only after that, you'll be allowed to curate for that community.
How to curate?
- You can use the Discord-bot-command to curate for your community.
- As indicated below, use
/upvote-hivecommand - Provide link & set the upvote weight
- Be responsible & careful when setting the upvote weight
Rules for curation
- Please don't curate your own post
- Please don't curate each-other's post
- Please don't curate the post which is related to curation-report
- Please don't curate AI generated Posts
- Please perform all necessary checks for a post before curating it (e.g. Plagiarism check, Duplicate check etc. )
- As a community moderator OR a community approved curator, I assume that curators are being responsible.
How does a curator gets rewarded?
- There is an optional option -
reply_typein discord bot command. - By default, it is set to small-reply.
No Replyadds no reply after upvoting.
Small Replyadds a reply to the post after upvote.- Any upvote based reward received on the comment, are given back to community & curator.
What's next?
- I am focusing on rewarding curators, community accounts & content creators
- In order to do that, I'm thinking of daily curation post.
- This daily curation post will have up-to-8 beneficiaries
- 4 curator's account & 4 community accounts.
- All of the rewards received on those post will benefit them.
Any other ideas for motivating curators?
- Curators find a good post & motivates content creators.
- So far above listed ideas, I've found useful so far to reward curators.
- But people rarely upvotes a comment. Also, upvote rewards on a comment are very low.
- I'm open to suggestions. If you've any idea regarding rewarding the curators, please do share in the comment section.
