The Gentlemen is a TV show which is a spinoff of the 2019 movie directed by the same director, Guy Ritchie. This is the best tv series from Netflix in 2024, without a doubt.
The Gentlemen has great characters in it and the plot is quite simple: a man by the name of Eddie Horniman, played by Theo James, comes home serving for the British army and has to take ownership of his father's huge lands and houses.
Little does this soldier know that there is a business his father had of a weed empire that is inside his property and is owned by a notorious criminal who is in jail known as Bobby Glass, played brilliantly by Ray Winston.
Bobby Glass has a daughter named Susie Glass played by Kaya Scodelario and she manages all the weed business. Eddie has a huge problem with the weed business in his property but his biggest issue is his uncontrollable brother named Freddy played by Daniel Ings, who is making all sorts of issues for him mostly related to debt because he is an avid gambler. We see a great scene of Freddy wearing a chicken suit and dancing and then killing off a person with an old shotgun.
There are various entertaining moments spread all throughout this tv show and you will not be bored all throughout it's duration.
The chemistry between Eddie and Susie Glass is great to watch. Both of these main characters have to fight off their differences and work together as a team for weed business to thrive.
Eddie has to take a lot of risks in order to meet the demands of Susie Glass because he wants the weed business out of his property. We see different mind games from other characters in the show to destroy the weed empire as time goes on the empire keeps on growing more and more. Stanley Johnston played brilliantly played by Giancarlo Esposito all through out the show wants to destroy the weed business and create problems for both Susie Glass and Eddie Horniman.
This tv show is very engaging from start to finish because it has strong ties to the original movie which was released in 2019. This show has a lot of elements of dark comedy and you don't want to miss out on this one I would give this tv show a 10 out of 10 and cannot wait for season 2 to drop.
