Hello and Everyone
Things work over the period and we should be ready to adopt the change. It's like the sooner we are comfortable with the change the better for us because we can move ahead, or else things will be problematic for us. Before the COVID pandemic, the entire world worked physically from office locations, and very few people were given the privilege to perform. Earlier this remote working option was given to some senior people in the companies and very few specific people had this opportunity but the pandemic changed it.
I also worked full-time in one of the companies and was required to travel daily. It was a 6-day working company so I used to travel every day. My daily travel time was approximately 45 minutes to one hour on one side. I lost my job after the pandemic but later on, I got the job again in the same company but on different terms. Earlier I was a full-time employee so I was required to report to work every day and follow their shift timings. With this change, I got the work as a freelancer which is like remote working and I don't need to visit their office anymore. I visit hardly once in three months and the rest of the things are communicated to me over the call. If there is something specific required then video call also helps but it's not good because I don't need to travel anymore and it saves a substantial amount of time.
I think after the pandemic the way we work has been changed positively and people have the flexibility to work remotely. Companies have also realized that does not matter if the employees are reporting to the office or not but they can be productive and they can continue to work promptly. Companies are also happy because many big companies have reduced their number of offices and seating arrangements which turn out to be a cost-effective solution for them. Because fewer people are reporting to work they do not need to spend more money on the logistics and administration expenses.
Now things are going to be normal but still, many companies have adopted the hybrid work model in which the employees are required to work a couple of days from the office. They don't need to come office 5 days or 6 days whatever the number of days they follow and this is how they give flexibility to their employees. It is good for the people because they can work from home as well as from the office depending upon their preference and they have flexibility in the combined model.
The new way to work which can be called remote working or the hybrid model is good for everyone. I mean to say it is good for the employer and employee. I am Mona Digample I had a freelancing opportunity with the same company before the pandemic, but it was never a possibility. I never thought that I was spending almost two hours every day on travel but after the pandemic, I realized that when I was jobless and even when I got the opportunity to work remotely. This is a good amount of time that now I spend on hype even when I manage my small kid who is one and family also at the same time. So it's all good and remote working is the best way of working and I don't think we need an office anymore unless there is something specific that requires physical presence.
