Finally Back Home
Thursday was a long travel day.
We left the hotel for the airport before 7 am El Paso time to return the rental car,
check our suitcases, and get through security.
When we got to our gate there was still over an hour to sit there before boarding time.
Southwest Airlines doesn't do assigned seating. We upgraded our boarding so we could get in the A boarding groups. We were again one of the first people on the plane and able to stow our carry-ons with no problem. On Thursday's flight we sat in the first row which was the bulkhead row. Way more than enough leg room for us.
There were two stops on the way to Milwaukee but no plane changes.
The first leg from El Paso to San Antonio was packed full.
From San Antonio to Kansas City and from Kansas City to Milwaukee there was more space.
We won't ever get a flight with plane changes again. The last time we did that was for my mother-in-law's funeral. We missed our connection in Atlanta to get to Milwaukee because we were delayed by a storm in Tampa, Florida. I would rather pay a little extra and have the convenience and comfort.
We got home at around 7 pm CST Thursday night. Both of us were pretty wiped out.
We have to go back there for the hearing that will officially appoint Roy as the Executor of his sister's will. Yes, we got assigned to Probate Court 2 which requires us to appear in person. What a waste of resources.
Anyway, we are both happy to be back home and sleeping in our own bed for the last two nights.
And we can plan the hearing around our schedule so I don't have to ask for more time away from work.
