Hello and welcome to all the readers.
In the month of December, i won the Special Orca Month HivePUD award.
Life has not been the same.
Before i share the journey with you, i would like to thank @blocktrades, @theycallmedan, @hivebuzz, @traciyork, @victoriabsb,
@arcange, @eddiespino and everyone involved in @hivePUD, including all the sponsors of lovely prizes.
I would say that been an Ocra is hard and it comes with it challenges.
Before winning the delegation, most of my curation was generated by following curation trails.
To abide with the rules, i first went into hive.vote and changed the Upvote Mana threshold from 70% to 90%. Reduced the curation trails percentage from 50% to 10%.
Then went through the fanbase, and reduced all the upvoting percentages.
After that, i asked few of the fellow hivers on how they do manual curation.
I got few suggestions, but the suggestion made my achim (@achim03) helped me start the manual curation journey.
Achim has been doing manual curation for @ctpsb, @liotes and other projects.
Now my main intention was to spread as many votes i can, earn curation in that process but also help others.
So, i started looking at introductory post from newcomers. Not everyone is good in english and can write a good introductory post.
I started reading most of the posts and upvoted them.
(i used @ecency [desktop version] and @peadkd [peakd.com] to find and upvote the posts)
I did ignore posts that had been re-posted again with different community tags.
I agree not all the posts were of good quality or well written.
But having the capacity and power to upvote those posts made me feel good. First set of upvotes on your first post are always special.
I also upvoted posts that were not written in english.
Yes, there were some newcomers abusing the introductory tags and posting again and again. As i read most of the posts, I just ignored them.
Once i finish distributing upvotes to introductory posts. I look for posts in the CTP, leofinance, Alive and Proofofbrain community
I also upvoted manually posts on risingstar and splinterlands.
I have been doing manual curation twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.
So far, i have not given even a single 100% vote. Giving 10 votes of 10% to 10 people is more satisfying then 1 100% vote.
But i have given bigger votes to some of the posts.
One good thing i cultivated from this exercise is been more active and writing comments on other's posts.
I still have few more days left in my OCRA journey. I will try my best to make the most of it for me and others.
Manual curation is bit time consuming, but i would love to do it again.
Thank you again to @blocktrades for the delegation and everyone involved with #HIvePUD
Thank you for reading my post.
Have a nice day.
