Saturday Savers Club Week 27 - good post payouts due to the low price of HIVE

in LeoFinance6 months ago

Its week 27 (06/07/24) of my savings focus for 2024 with the Saturday Savers Club which is a great Hive community initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account.

My goals for this year are:

  • Primary goal - to increase my HP by 7500, to 18500 HP,
  • Secondary goal - to increase my HP delegation to @eds-vote by 1000 HP, to 3000 HP (because I want to accumulate more of the EDS token).

I will also be continuing to increase my holding of investment tokens, and delegating HP to a number of good community curation accounts as well.

This weeks pic -It was a lovely day here yesterday in Edinburgh, and I went out for a walk along the River Almond and took more pics of the Giant Hog Weed, using my new phone camera.

Weekly Investment Focus

  • I've been selling all HBD post payouts for HIVE when I get them, and have set up a buy order to buy back into HBD at $0.35. At the current price of HIVE this would represent an increase of around 40%. I'm hoping that the price will get back up to there at some point, although I'm expecting that to be months away. If it happens it will be a nice little earner,
  • I'm continuing to focus on play-2-earn games, and particularly Alien Worlds on the WAX blockchain. It seems fairly profitable, and my aim there is to build up the account a bit and then build up my staked WAX. Its early doors, but it seems fairly realistic - and I'm also enjoying exploring the WAX blockchain more including its liquidity pools.

Weekly Stats

Weekly commentary

  • HP Gain: Much to my surprise I gained +147 HP this week. I think this is mostly down to the low price of HIVE and hence post payouts are awarding more HIVE. Either way, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount !,
  • HP Passive: 28.85 of my HP gain this week came from curation (+16.63 HP, not really passive) and HP APR (+9.22 HP - based on the current HP APR of 3.34%) - which is another highest weekly income figure for this. Again the low price of HIVE is meaning higher payouts from both curation and APR. Its making a big difference each week,
  • HP goal: My HP total now stands at 14361 HP and I need a further 4139 HP to hit my primary goal of 18500 HP. At 25 weeks to go, that requires 162 per week (no change). The annual target is certainly looking rather difficult to hit - but this low price of HIVE is helping. Its a great time to accumulate HIVE !,
  • HP delegation to @eds-vote: My HP delegation to @eds-vote increased by +5 HP to 2650 HP. I need to delegate another 350 to hit my secondary target to raise my total delegation to 3000 HP. That will require an average of 13 HP delegated per week to hit it, which I should achieve (even if it means dumping more than planned in to hit the goal),
  • HP delegation to curation accounts: I added a further +4 HP to my @worldmappin delegation to take that total to 138 HP. The aim is to take that to 250 HP - so I have 112 to go - not that far to go now,
  • HP delegation to curation accounts: The main aim of these community delegations is to support these great curation accounts that have certainly helped me along the way to where I am now, but I'm also getting nice daily drips of HIVE as a result from @ocdb, @qurator and @curangel as they pass on their curation income to delegators, which is a nice little bonus !
I tend to reinvest those HIVE drips from the curation accounts back into my HBD:HIVE trading fund, giving a nice little synergy to growing another income stream,
  • LEO (which includes LP): I gained 31 LEO this week, which is a little below my 12 week rolling average, but still a nice amount. It keeps on building up nicely. This takes my total to 4321 (which includes both LEO and LP),
  • HP delegation to @leo-voter: I added 1 HP (!) to my delegation to @leo-voter this week (actually it was due to HP APR growth). I do intend to add to it further later in the year (after my curation account and @eds-vote delegation targets have been completed) but am monitoring it anyway because its an important part of my LEO growth strategy,
  • EDS: I gained +2.97 EDS which is higher than normal, so thats great. My 2650 HP delegation to @eds-vote brought in 2.37 EDS this week. The rest of the gain seen came from the mining lottery for holding EDSMMs (I have 146 of those). I selected increasing my delegation to @eds-vote as my secondary goal as I'm really keen to keep accumulating EDS, and focusing on the HP delegation works well with my primary goal of increasing my HP total,
  • HBD:HIVE Trading: I didnt have any trades go through again this week due to the low price of HIVE being outside of my active trading range. As said above, I'm currently working on a larger trade to buy back into HBD at $0.35, and am dumping HIVE gains into there from selling HBD at the current low price. It will probably take some time to go through, which is fine !.

Plan for the coming week

  • Regular Posting: Regular posting (daily) is the key to HP growth. I didnt do so well on this front again last week, so need to try and do a bit more, especially while the price of HIVE is so low,
  • **Posting via Inleo: ** I'm continuing to post mostly using Inleo due to the extra LEO this will generate. Its making a difference, as is having Premium,
  • Curation: To be active in HIVE Blog curation to help with HIVE curation rewards. I mostly try to keep my voting mana between 85 to 95%,
  • Undelegated HP: To continue to increase undelegated HP in order to improve HIVE curation rewards,
  • HBD:HIVE trading: To continue with HBD:HIVE trading. I'm going to keep adding more funds to the low end of my trading capital from post payouts over the coming weeks. HBD:HIVE trading has been working well for me, so I may as well take advantage of that and try to increase the profits on my trades - increasing my trading capital will help to make that happen,
  • HP delegation to @eds-vote: This weeks delegation of 10% of my weekly HP income to @eds-vote will add a further 15 HP,
  • HP delegation to curation accounts: This weeks delegation of 10% of my weekly HP income to community curation accounts will add a further 15HP to @worldmappin.

Summary

I'm very happy with my current HP gains, with this low price of HIVE really helping. I've not been posting as much as I could, so I really should try and do more while the price is so low because it will mean greater weekly gains in HP.

My Tribe Token Investment Project

My experiment with 8 different tribe tokens on my alt account @hoosieboy is moving along. The experiment is designed to grow semi-passively via staking, curation, posting and rebalancing - in a way where the methods should work together and add constructively. Everything gets re-invested back into curation accounts for the same 8 tribe tokens, so it also provides a positive boost to those tribes.

My last rebalance on the 23rd of June clocked up quite a nice increase due to a number of the tribe tokens going up in value (more so than I was expecting). It actually resulted in my largest gain during a rebalance to date (for just over 6 HIVE). I know the numbers are not massive, but I'm just enjoying doing the experiment, and I'm finding that the results are different at every rebalance, which keeps it very interesting for me. As such, I'm already looking forward to me next rebalance which I'll do in another week or two.

You can check out my latest rebalance post on my @hoosieboy alt account here.

And as a reminder:

  • This weeks Savers of the Week post went live on friday (here). The awards for those selected are quite nice ! We are looking for inciteful content that shows how you are saving, growing and investing. Each of the 4 nominees gets 15% of the notification post payout and 5 HSBIs - so it can work out as a nice little boost to all selected ! So make sure you are creating your weekly savings posts, and tagging them in the comments of the weekly post from susie-saver on the @eddie-earner account - you've got a very good chance of getting selected !

You need to put the waivio tag, which is one of the tags that earns the most when you sell it, the other tags except hive-engine are worthless

Thanks - but I didnt think this post topic fitted with Waivio, otherwise I would have. Do they accept posts with any topic ? I didnt just want to spam them.

I am thinking about selling all my HBD, replace them with SPI, EDS, BRO, or anything that HIVE based... but that's risky move but if hive rebounds, will pay off all those risks

I'm certainly not holding any HBD just now, but its hard to say what will happen. I'd like to think HIVE will rebound, but I dont really know if/when.

I didn't think that the drop in the Hive price would increase Hive rewards, as the value of votes decreases in $. At least it didn't work that way for me.

Farm LOLZ tokens when you Delegate Hive or Hive Tokens.
Click to delegate: 10 - 20 - 50 - 100 HP

I thought the post award was calculated in USD, hence if price of HIVE is lower, then the payout in HIVE is higher. I could be wrong though.

Delegate Hive Tokens to Farm $LOLZ and earn 110% Rewards. Learn more.

You're really making the most of the current HIVE prices to boost your holdings. Experimenting with different tribe tokens seems like a smart move to maximize gains. Keep up the good work bro and I hope things pick Up again
