There is some contest on the InLeo platform and the topic of the day, today, is #sundaythoughts. The big theme is #februaryinleo, and as a fresh winner of a Premium for a month on last month's contest, I decided to be more active, publishing one post per day on InLeo, for a month. Let's see what will happen next!
So, just finishing a whole 12-hour shift at work, on Sunday, I am dragging myself to write, and right now, being tired, I have 2 subjects close to my heart, books, for a good sleep, and nootropics, supplements used to not get tired quickly and focus better than a market on cocaine.
Nootropics, also known as smart drugs or cognitive enhancers, are drugs, supplements or other substances that may improve cognitive function (executive functions, memory, creativity, motivation). The word nootropic was coined in 1972 by a Romanian chemist and psychologist, Corneliu Giurgea, derivate from the Greek words nous (mind) and trepetin (bending). The most used nootropic is the well-known caffeine. Learn about all other nootropics here.
So, obviously, if you aim to be a bio-hacker, and improve your body and mind, you may want to check this book:
You may find some interesting suggestions in this book (hint, if you have Amazon Prime you can read it for free as an E-book. But going past the results, right to the cause of our chronic tiredness, the idea is that we may need to sort something else first, before using boosters and enhancers. It is what I call the Back to Basics method (and no, it is not the Splinterlands ruleset), which basically says that to reach optimal overall health you need to do the basics right way:
Sleep 8-9 hours every night.
Avoid sugar, caffeine, alcohol and smoking as much as possible.
Drink at least 5-7 glasses of water every day.
Eat good quality food at least 80-90% of the time (once in a while it is not the end of the world if you have some tasty snack).
Do some time of exercise at least 3 times a week.
This is all we need to do, so simple and yet so complicated. All of us know what is the right thing to do, but not all are doing it. Why? Well, if you find the answer to this question, you may teach the whole world how to do it, and even get insanely rich while doing it. Good luck!
All the best,
George
