I always say that Hive blockchain is a big ocean and has place for everyone. The point is the users or people has to find the right place as per their interest and start engaging with others to grow the account. Here the communities play a very important role as member of the community are the users has similar interest. For example if a new user interested in the photography then the communities related to the photography are more suitable for him, if the user is music lover or a singer then the communities like Vibes is more suitable community for him. Now the question is even the blockchain is so vast and has opened arms for all then also the user base is not as per the expectations. Many time I talk with my family and friends about the Hive platform they always get excited but create the Hive account and start writing is very challenging. Some of them created the account and started posting but after few weeks they left the platform. The onboarding and then retaining the uses on platform is one of the biggest challenge for the platform.
I feel first hurdle is the mentality, the new user think they will start earnign a lot by writing anything on platform. But they have to understand that the things take some time, Roam is also not build in a day. By writing any things will not earn you much, the engagement and good content only is the key to success here.
In this post I will share some idea which help to make people aware of the platform and helps onboard new users.
The first and most important is people must know about the platform and also know the feature and possibilities. If they will not know about the platform then how they will be thing to use it. The local advertisement are the best way to reach the people. The sponsorship to the local events and the sports is the one excellent way to make place in local audience. I have seen such advertisements become the talk of the town. If the event is of national or international level then it will be more effective. In I talked bout the India then the people are crazy about the Cricket so any even like Indian Premium League (IPL) if any board or the advertisement during the match can be played then it will reach more audience.
First step is to each the people and onboard them, now the next step is to educate them and train them by teaching how the platform works. The local meet up's or even the online meetup are the best shot for same. The meetup in local language make is more comfortable and understandable to the users. The meet up not only help them to understand the platform but also help to motivate them and encourage them to participate and engage on platform. The people in the meetup get in touch with each other personally which also help the platform directly and indirectly.
As I mentioned above the communities play a very important role as the community is a group of people who have something in common like interest or hobbies. The contests within the community give the reason to the users to write and get extra rewards on winning. The support form the community members also give the extra reason for the members to participate.
I know some communities I like and suggest are the Actifit, Splinterlands, Hive Learner and of course the inleo, those are the community I found very useful for the new users. The monthly initiative by inleo team is one I like the most as the users do not have to think of the topic to write.
Creating a use case for the hive and second layer token also helps promoting the platform. At present at some places we can directly use the HBD but the choices are limited. I am not able to find any local store where I can sue the crypto to make purchase. Many people ask me where we can use the crypto earing form the platform, when I asked them to join.
