When the term "blockchain" is mentioned, the first thing that typically comes to mind is Bitcoin, as well as finance and cryptocurrencies. The word "blockchain" is a combination of "block" and "chain". It is a secure and fast real-time system that functions as a sequential ledger based on cryptographic principles. Data in the blockchain is stored in a series of blocks, with each new block becoming the first part of the subsequent entry. The data is encrypted using hash codes, making it unique and tamper-proof. Transactions can occur in real-time without the need to wait for official timing.
However, blockchain is not limited to finance or cryptocurrencies. It has various use cases in different industries. Although it is a relatively new technology compared to others, it is rapidly expanding its reach across industry sectors.
One of these sectors is healthcare. The potential applications of blockchain in healthcare are limitless. Electronic data is recorded and readily available, without the risk of tampering. The scalability of blockchain is particularly beneficial in managing and recording large amounts of patient data from different locations. This data is stored electronically and can be accessed whenever needed. Real-time data availability allows for improved decision-making, and doctors from different locations can analyze the data simultaneously.
The decentralized nature of data storage in blockchain ensures it is tamper-proof, as the data is located at various locations. Additionally, records can be transferred securely and swiftly, and blockchain can also assist in managing the supply chain for medicines.
The data stored in blockchain of any kids of disease may helps in curing the same at some other location of world. The fast and secure way if data transfer has the potential to become the key aspect of technology. The data based stored at different location means their is not centerline agency has the control.
Although the Blockchain technology has good scope in healthcare industry but still the technology is not mature enough to get implemented immediately. The adoption will take some time.
