Okey, no rum, some beers here talking.
Trading votes for witness support ain't cool. We all kinda trade votes. I vote for things I like, and there's a high chance that the authors of such content would also like my content. Besides, there's the Czech community I naturally stick to. So we can be easily blamed for trading votes for votes. Nevertheless, voting content I don't enjoy just because the authors supported my witness account is not the path I'd take if I had a witness server. My two cents.
Just like in the real (offline) life, there are environments and situations. Things perfectly that were perfectly all right when you were drafted to the army and went for a leave (I still think it was just a Halloween costume though!) may not be suitable for a few years older Bradley sipping his Scotch at a gentlemens' club in Deer Lake (is there such place?). And they will be totally inappropriate at a kids' day out on the bay. See my point? Snaps are a place for Hive OGs, people there are on Hive for like 7 years, and they are likely aware of your activities. Reminding them might feel like watching the same ad for the 50th time.
The best way to establish yourself here is to build up your own community. I did so with the Czechs, and they still percieve me as the founding father, even though I am one of the yougest there (you fossil! - sorry, I couldn't help it). Go around the marvelous island of yours and invite folks. I've heard the Canucks are great chums. They might support you - it's always better when somebody else promotes you (and it is even better when you don't to pay them for that!)
Anyways, chill, man. I mock you, but I like you, Bradley ;)
