When I joined Hive nine months ago, I thought it would be a great way to earn some extra income from blogging, connect with people and have fun. I never thought I'd end up partnering with @bitcoinman and @thebighigg to create a new token. Life is full of surprises, and this one has been kept a secret until now.
Humble Beginnings
Originally, @bitcoinman and I started the Hive Onboarding Committee, to work toward onboarding people to Hive and giving encouragement to new Hive users. The goal was simple: bring new people to Hive and encourage those who are here to grow, stay, and eventually onboard others. Word of mouth is still the best marketing, and nobody promotes something better than someone who can speak from personal success.
Where DUO Comes into Play
The HOC has slowly grown, and added more members to the cause, like @thebighigg. Onboarding still remains a challenge for all of Hive, and we wanted to ensure new users could be supported.
We're not whales ourselves, but with a community rallying around a common cause, none of us need to be a whale. We're stronger together, rather than relying on one or two people to carry the weight of responsibility. So we set out to create DUO as a way to have the community help.
What DUO Does for You
As someone who buys and stakes DUO, you get real rewards. Sure, bragging rights are cool, but it's nice to be rewarded as well! The @duo-curator account will be not only curating new Hive users, but the content of DUO stakers, too!
After the posts pay out, the account will be paying out 90% of all Hive, HBD and sold Hive-Engine tokens it brings in! (Still in development and will be available very soon)
This way, the project can grow over time, but you benefit from it as the project grows! Plus, you'll be able to tip DUO to others! (Still in development and will be available very soon)
How to Buy DUO
We're currently selling DUO on Hive-Engine/Tribaldex for 0.5 Hive each. Once the first 20,000 tokens are sold at a discount to early adopters, the next tranche of 40,000 tokens will be sold at 1 Hive each. After that, 60,000 will be sold at 1.5 Hive each and finally, 80,000 will be sold at 2 Hive each. So, don't be one of the people who waits until it's 2 Hive each. 😉
