RE: Tribe Token Experiment - Using rebalancing, curation delegation and tribe tagging - 13th rebalance - Large losses across ALIVE, POB, CENT and CTP

in LeoFinance9 months ago

I've been noticing the same trend with Tribe tokens; they start off worth something, then over a period the price starts declining, sometimes with a sudden initial drop. Once it happens, I've not seen any recover. So far, the only ones I follow that seem immune to this pattern are LEO and EDS.

It's frustrating, and I expect it is for the token creators as well. I'd love to know if there's a single consistent reason for it, but it is certainly starting to make me think hard about whether I should hold tribe tokens over the long term.

I know - its pretty disheartening. I've noticed a number of layer-2 projects have single person ownership. If that person gets bored, dis-interested, have other commitments, etc then it can lead to a problem for the project - basically it gets dropped without someone there to keep it going. Also, if its getting low interest anyway, then there is very little incentive on the owner to keep the project going. Its a problem when Hive generally has so little adoption. If it were bigger, then there may be the business case to have bigger teams behind some of these projects.
