Apparently, X has changed the way it reports user analytics. All I see is the overview now and no way to see more granular data such as Likes, Replies, Reposts, other engagements, or top posts. That means my report this week will be shorter.
Overall, my impressions over the last 7 days went up by 121 percent over the previous 7 days. My posts saw 2,656 impressions in the last week. Other metrics categories that increased include:
- Link clicks, which increased by 150 percent
- Reposts, which increased by 50 percent
The rest of the metrics categories declined.
Specifically, the metrics that went down from the week before include:
- Engagement rate fell 50 percent
- New followers decreased by 22 percent
- Replies dropped 44 percent
- Likes slipped 13 percent
- Video views slid by 40 percent
- Media views limped a total of 47 percent
These aren't necessarily bad numbers. The raw numbers (except for engagement rate) look more promising. Here are the raw numbers across the board:
- Engagement rate = 2.9 percent
- Profile visits = 3
- Link clicks = 10
- New followers = 7
- Replies = 5
- Likes = 20
- Reposts = 15
- Video views = 9
- Media views = 10
Other than impressions, the metric that is the most encouraging to me is link clicks. Ordinarily, I get a few. Receiving 10 in 7 days is a big improvement. I need to go back and see which links got the most attention so I can analyze the best types of content to publish in the future, but since X changed its reporting and didn't give me the raw data this week, I can't see the performance of each post as I've been able to for the past year. That's a huge bummer!
28-Day Analytics
On a lark, I decided to take a look at the analytics report for the last 28 days. Here's the graphic:
These numbers are pretty encouraging. The metrics that increased include:
- Impressions, by 1.8 percent (9,293 impressions over 28 days)
- Link clicks, by 50 percent (21 total link clicks)
- New followers, by 54 percent (40 new followers in 28 days)
- Reposts, by 31 percent (47 reposts)
- Video views, by 306 percent (65 video views)
- Media views, by 148 percent (77 media views)
In case you're wondering, the difference between media views and video views is that the media views metric includes images as well as videos while video views include videos only.
When I compare the 28-day report to the 3-month report, it's clear that the past month has been a stellar month for me. All metrics on the 3-month report are down.
It looks like I'm a long way from being able to monetize my X account, but that isn't my goal. At this point, I'm just enjoying the process of learning how to use X. It's quite different today than classic Twitter was. Whether that is good or bad I'll leave to your judgment.
