RE: Back To DVDs

in Movies & TV Shows9 days ago

I've not seen that one, only the old film. I've been watching Game of Thrones on charity shop DVDs. I've mostly played it on a PS2 and an old TV in the study, but it does look a bit better on the main TV where I can use the surround sound. My other half hasn't got into it.

Enjoy the show.

I love Game of Thrones. It's very well written, the characters are great, and it was a brilliant spin on the fantasy genre in general. The books are very good, well worth a read when you finish the series, the first book is very similar to the first season, some scenes are word for word adaptations, but as the second and especially the third book comes around there are so many deviations.

I've heard that it deviates a fair bit from the books, but I've enjoyed it so far. I'm getting to where they ran out of books and I've also heard that it goes downhill a bit. I still need to watch it all anyway. It may take me a while to get to the books, but my daughter has read them.
