Welcome my dear time and internet travelers and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, to be honest, time travel is not my favorite subject for a film because many of them are exactly the same so It makes it boring to see a copy and paste of a song, however, for some reason the tape "The Time Machine" caught my attention so I decided to give it a try. Without further ado, prepare to want to modify the past because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros del tiempo y del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, para serles sincero los viajes en el tiempo no son mi tema favorito para un filme debido a que muchos son exactamente lo mismo por lo que se hace aburrido ver un copia y pega de un tema, no obstante, por algún motivo la cinta "The Time Machine" me llamó la atención por lo que decidí darle una oportunidad. Sin más que agregar prepárense para querer modificar el pasado pues estamos por comenzar.
The Time Machine was released in 2002, it is a remake of the film of the same name from the 60's which in turn is based on the 1895 book written by H. G. Wells, directed by Simon Wells and produced by Parkes/MacDonald, it has a duration 1 hour and 36 minutes. It is a science fiction film, the story takes place in 1899 and focuses on a scientist named Alexander Hartdegen who is highly criticized for his liberal thinking and his belief in the theoretical possibility of time travel, having conversations on the subject. With Einstein himself, all this research will become more important after he suffers a devastating loss which forces him to focus more on trying to travel in time without knowing everything that trip would await him.
The Time Machine fue estrenada en 2002, es un remake de la película homónima de los años 60's que a su vez se basa en el libro de 1895 escrito por H. G. Wells, dirigida por Simon Wells y producida por Parkes/MacDonald, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 36 minutos. Es un filme de ciencia ficción, la historia se desarrolla en 1899 y se enfoca en un científico llamado Alexander Hartdegen el cual es muy criticado por su pensamiento liberal y su creencia en la posibilidad teórica de los viajes en el tiempo, teniendo conversaciones sobre el tema con el propio Einstein, toda esta investigación se hará más importante después de que sufra una pérdida devastadora lo cual lo orillara a enfocarse más en tratar de viajar en el tiempo sin saber todo lo que ese viaje le aguardaría.

The soundtrack is good, it is pleasant in general terms even though it has nothing that makes it stand out, its objective is to be a good accompaniment for the different situations of the film, nothing beyond that.
La banda sonora está bien, es agradable en líneas generales pese a que no tenga nada que la haga resaltar, su objetivo es ser un buen acompañamiento para las diferentes situaciones del filme, nada más allá de eso.
The construction of the world is quite fluctuating, right off the bat it shows a past without many interesting elements that can be mentioned, something similar happens with the future because it is quite stereotyped by the standards of the time although despite this it has one or another element that is somewhat more original and has narrative importance. Despite all of the above, the point where it stands out the most is in the final scenery since it is quite striking and with many elements that help understand the events of the plot. It has some quite nice special effects and others that look extremely stuffy and lacking in detail, this is a disgrace since the film itself shows that it can do it very well, only at some points they seemed to lack the desire.
La construcción del mundo es bastante fluctuante, de buenas a primeras muestra un pasado sin muchos elementos interesantes que se puedan mencionar, algo similar pasa con el futuro debido a que es bastante estereotipado para los estándares de la época aunque pese a ello tiene uno que otro elemento que si resultan algo más originales y que tienen importancia narrativa. Pese a todo lo anterior, el punto donde más destaca es en la escenografía final puesto que es bastante llamativa y con muchos elementos que ayudan a entender los acontecimientos de la trama. Tiene algunos efectos especiales bastante agradables y otros que se ven sumamente acartonados y con falta de detalle, esto es una desgracia puesto que el mismo filme demuestra que puede hacerlo muy bien solo que en algunos puntos como que les faltaron ganas.
The plot follows a fairly predictable course at first, fortunately it knows how to build a fairly creative and striking outcome. Narratively it is not completely original with some elements but at least it knows how to take a direction towards something more curious, the messages it has about letting go of the past and so on are quite generic so it is not worth concentrating on it. The duration is neither excessive nor very short; for the limited content that the film contains, it is more than adequate to allow the film to develop everything it aspires to.
La trama sigue un rumbo bastante predecible en un primer momento, afortunadamente sabe ir construyendo un desenlace medianamente creativo y llamativo. Narrativamente no es completamente original con algunos elementos pero por lo menos sabe tomar un rumbo hacia algo más curioso, los mensajes que tiene sobre dejar ir el pasado y demás son bastante genéricos por lo que no merece la pena concentrarse en ello. La duración no es un exabrupto ni muy poca, para el contenido limitado que contiene el filme esta es más que acorde para permitirle al filme desarrollar todo lo que aspira.
The protagonist is the only one that can be highlighted and despite this he is not that memorable either, through him the aim is to convey the typical message that the past cannot be altered and that the best thing to do is leave it behind, the issue with This is that the film does not give enough time for the viewer to become attached to the character or to understand his loss, which makes his journey not so interesting to the viewer. The villain is curious, because although his actions are quite deplorable, they have a certain logic and basis in the natural order of things, although this is not explored much even though it was the most interesting thing the film had.
El protagonista es el único que se puede destacar y pese a ello no es tampoco tan memorable, mediante él se pretende transmitir el típico mensaje de que el pasado no puede ser alterado y que lo mejor que se puede hacer es dejarlo atrás, el asunto con esto es que la cinta no da el tiempo suficiente para que el espectador se encariñe con el personaje ni para entender su pérdida, lo que hace que su viaje no le resulte tan interesante al espectador. El villano es curioso, porque pese a que sus acciones son bastante deplorables tienen cierta lógica y basamento en el orden natural de las cosas, aunque tampoco esto se explora mucho que digamos pese a que era de lo más interesante que tenía el filme.
The Time Machine is a curious thing since it fails in its main focus which is time travel but it does manage to present a curious post-apocalyptic world with various interesting elements, its biggest problem being that it does not dedicate enough time to the latter, which makes its resolution feel incomplete and rushed. It is for all of the above that it deserves 2.5 stars out of 7, it is not a disgrace but unfortunately the errors accumulate and it is something that ends up weighing on it.
The Time Machine es una cosa curiosa puesto que falla en su enfoque principal el cual es los viajes en el tiempo pero si logra presentar un mundo postapocalíptico curioso con diversos elementos interesantes, siendo su mayor problema que no le dedica el suficiente tiempo a este último, lo que hace que se sienta incompleta y apresurada su resolución. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 2.5 estrellas de 7, no es una desgracia pero lamentablemente se le acumulan los errores y es algo que le termina pesando.
