Again another TV show watched, it is interesting to discover new ones, specially when they are different and we like them. So I want to share here my review and explaining a little but what this TV show is about, maybe it could be interesting for you... Hope you like it!
It's a TV show called Dügüm, and it is Turkish, but not the typical love drama story but an intriguing one. It is a series full of suspense, about a crime, an investigation, mystery and doubts between different characters, and an unexpected ending. All mixed by the glamour of television stars and the power of communication of social networks.
What is this about?
The story begins with the successful and popular television presenter Neslihan, who has had a crime investigation TV program for years. She is very professional and rigorous, and boasts of her objectivity in any case, despite possible pressures, but she solves cases in an impeccable journalistic way, becoming almost a social service and viewers love it. In fact, her famous program is called more or less "The Only Truth" (Tek Gerçek).
But one rainy night something unexpected and strange happens, that's how the series begins, that's how it all begins. A crime, the murder of a young woman who is buried, and among those involved is the protagonist's son.
She finds out by chance when she returns to her luxurious house, hears her sleeping son's cell phone and sees the messages, then she gets scared, wakes him up nervously, and the doubts, nerves and panic begin. What to do?
Without hesitation, Neslihan takes the reins, decides to help her son whom she believes to be innocent, but he does not remember anything and even doubts himself. But she boldly begins to investigate the case until she gets totally involved, perhaps too much... [No more info, it could be a spoiler!]
She even takes advantage of the old friendship, or more than friendship with the police investigator, to get more clues and hide others... How will this relationship end?
But despite her initial discretion on the matter, everything grows, and the event begins to be known, she will have to deal with the case itself on the program, prove to her loyal audience if she continues to be objective or if it is her son, that is impossible. But all eyes and cameras are pointed this time at her and her son's life. What will she do? What will happen?
The characters
A thrilling suspense TV show, where each character plays the precise role. The famous journalist Neslihan stands out especially, with airs of grandeur and designer clothes, with an excellent reputation and popular support on social networks. But everything changes when the case of her son and the role she takes on begin to be exposed. Have her values changed?
The policeman is serious and methodical, but deep down his relationship with the protagonist does not allow him to see everything clearly at first, but his intuition and good work always lead him down the right path.
There are other characters, such as Neslihan's son's companions, who are initially also involved in the shady affair, but we will see how different their attitudes are and how under pressure they get nervous and no longer act or think the same. Will they maintain their friendship?
Neslihan's husband seems to be a secondary character, always in the shadow of her and her great success. A quiet university professor who coincidentally had the murdered young woman as a student. The evolution of this character is surprising...
And of course, the other protagonist, the son accused of the murder of the young student girl. A spoiled child, scared by the whole situation who lets himself be carried away by his mother's plans, trusting that she will fix everything, but will she be able to do it?
He himself does not remember what happened, sometimes he doubts whether he is really guilty, but his Mother convinced of his innocence will force him to hold on until everything is resolved.
Anything else to comment? The Plot
Without a doubt, the most interesting thing is the characters and how they evolve throughout the series, as events develop almost uncontrollably. Everything gets complicated, Neslihan gets too involved with undesirable people, and one mistake leads her to cover up another and another. In addition, envious and ambitious people from television want to take advantage of that moment to sink her and take her place, in a cruel world exposed on the screens.
Everything develops quickly, at every moment we think that the culprit may be one character or another, the thread itself guides us to different assumptions, until we end up in an unexpected place, with an unexpected character and an unexpected ending that ends up (half) clarified thanks to a dramatic live broadcast on social networks, and it seems that we arrive at "the only truth", or not? Although well to a certain point, in the end, the end of everything... the suspense may continue...
