Angel of Death: A Polish Psycho TV Show

in Movies & TV Shows9 months ago (edited)

Hello friends!

We watch TV shows and movies when we have time, and the best thing is to vary themes and even origins. Many series and movies are American, others English, but sometimes I like to watch different ones. I have already shared here some French series or an Israeli one among others, and today another new one that I have seen recently.

TV Show: Angel of Death (2020)

This is "Angel of Death" on HBOMax, also called Szadz in Polish, because it is a Polish thriller TV show, because in Eastern Europe there are also interesting series and movies, I already saw some in the past, but I wanted to share this one that I have finished, well its second season, and it seems there is a new third one. Just to comment that I have watched doubled in Spanish language not in Polish!

At the moment I have found it intriguing what this type of thriller where there is a murderous psychopath as the protagonist should be. And it is good, especially for two reasons:

  • First, the profile of such a serial killer, very refined and intelligent, always one step ahead, very observant and cold-blooded, he knows how to hide well, lead a double life and play with those who persecute him.

  • On the other hand, the relationship with his main enemy, a policewoman who takes the matter very directly and personally, becoming everything in her life, and in fact the connection between both protagonists is stronger and more intricate than what she thought. seems…. But I don't want to comment much more about this [SPOILER?].

And what is it about?

About a man, Piotr Wolnicki, an university professor, an expert in religious matters and symbols, and that knowledge is fundamental in the series, because a trail of deaths of young girls with the same profile begins to be discovered, they appear dead half-naked with a symbol each, one after another one.

The police try to find out who it is, but only Agnieszka Polkowska seems to be following the trail. She hires someone who can explain all that symbology, but her investigation takes her to something else, something deeper and more personal, because it goes to the personal not only of her present, in which her daughter ends up involved in a certain way, but also her past, her family history and memories that she did not remember and everything becomes more frenetic and stressful for her and for those of us who are watching the episodes.

In each one we discover more facets of the psychopath, also his family life, his relationship with his wife and children, his different lives, and his obsessions, his tricks and skills to overcome suspicions despite the fact that the investigation is getting closer and closer. And it becomes a kind of intellectual challenge or game between both protagonists.

At the end of the first season [SPOILER!] it seems that everything is over but no, we also realize the way in which he manages to confuse justice itself, always counting on help, curiously always from women who seem to fascinate him. Because that is his power, he seems gallant and charming and knows how to trick and then satisfy his mental madness and that murderous instinct that he continues throughout the series.

Now all that remains is to watch the new season 3 to see how he continues to survive and get rid of the situation even though it seems that everything is clearer, but his psychopathic mind is always clear and we will see what new intelligent tricks he devises and how the police will or will not manage to catch him.

The Angel of Death game continues.

This last Friday I have watched the last episode currently broadcasted on HBOMax in Spain, the episode 6 of season 2, and looking forward to watching the new season 3!
