Hola, setero! Let me share some mushroom impressions from the last month. There happened a fruitful photo-walk, tho it ended up with quite a slender bucket.

Absolutely opt out of identifying this one: looks like a typical toadstool for me. Their name is LEGION, lol.

Snails and slugs usually are to blame for such caps damage. You always feel sorrow finding a good shroom - which a dozen of snails have managed to find (and bite) before you... Although of course taking a photo of them tasting the mushroom tissue, or berries, seems like a good thing to do. It gives me the best option would be to divide "the spheres of influence": what if we would be getting good edible mushrooms - and snails take all the rest?.. but alas, it is impossible to come to any agreement with snails.

Chantrelles! They hided well, but it did not save them xD

The first fly agaric I stumbled upon this season. I think his path to the light was pretty difficult - look how his cap is twisted; most likely, there happened a stone in a soil on his way up, and he had to turn his cap sideways...

A pair of fake Boletus Edulis.

Plush fungus. I consider it to be rare, but I know the place where its mycelium sleeps,-- every year I come across this fungus in the neighboring yard to my house :) however, this one you see in the photo above, is the first time I have come across this specie in a forest! Pretty spectacular fungus, isnt it? (but absolutely non-forageable).

Slippery Jack...

...and four small britlegills (without worms). Not enough for a good dish. But I wasnt upset - because I got some great photo trophies. Happy #fungifriday!

A little advertisement: in Fungi Lovers community share your foraging stories and trophies, photos and recipes, identification questions, contemplations and ideas. If you are not sure about correct ID (which allows us to find out more about certain fungus), no problem, feel no fear - fungi are full of weird alien charm we can adore even nameless. We appreciate them not only for their cooking values!

I like mushrooms but the ones i know are the ones that I can find in grocery stores. It’s interesting to read your foraging adventure and able to take home some for consumption.

The photos are nice 👍

By the way, you may not be able to make an agreement with the snails, but at least you can outrun them 😉

but at least you can outrun them 😉

hahaha! !LOLZ, I !LUV this comment. BUT...... you will be surprised to know HOW FAST they are... can be. most of time it is snails (and especially worms) outrun me, hehehehe 🐈

grocery mushrooms - probably it is champignons or oysters - are delicious and quite easy to process! clean, stong, ideally-shaped and no worms inside. Good to consume!

Let me treat you with some !PIZZA with fungi and ham. happy #fungifriday!

I noticed quite a bit of the plush fungi here too, its a strange polypore that seems to dry up and turn brittle and turn into dust. Almost seems potentially edible when it first starts.

Almost seems potentially

oh! dont try it please.... 😂

Probably tastes like a shoe.

Wonderful photographs and so interesting. I love the forests and damp places where fungi and mushrooms grow. But I am always too scared to even try and identify anything edible. I will leave that up to the people like you who know much more than I do! Picking the wrong one can have some nasty consequences. Thanks for sharing these awesome photographs!

Well, fungi do deserve foraging - and you should be educating yourself about your local edible wild-growing ones. The thing is, one cant (and shouldnt!) rely on google apps for identifying, cause, huh, pics (be it poor or good) are not enough for identifying. Shrooms of bright and unique appearance (like, fly agaric) are easy to identify no doubt - but some others are hell of a question; most probably google app will give you a wrong result. Best way is actually to learn from a knowledgeable person directly, walking and examining the local fungi together. If that is possible. =)

Oh this is for sure the way to go! I would not dare eat anything without making sure. Nasty effects when you pick the wrong one. The best option is like you said to get someone with knowledge about the are to assist you. That experience and wisdom are only learned with time, and you cannot gain it from google image search or stuff like that. Even after 10 or so years in the garden I still sometimes second-guess myself when picking something I did not plant.

👍

Did you know that <a href='https://dcity.io/cityyou can use BEER at dCity game to buy cards to rule the world.

ps. and the rule number one is -- if you are not 101% sure about it, better do not pick it up! ☘️

Always, even with normal plants in the garden. If you did not plant it, and cannot be 100% sure, it is not with picking it.

Lol the culprits caught in action... The 3rd to the last photo looks like a biscuit XD

oh, thats is a very cool and funny looking one; if you poke it with a finger, it looks like plush! 🐈

Lovely find my friend.
amazing nature isn't it? how the fungi changed the shape of the cap just to stay alive and thrive well despite the hinder that it get from he nature.

I guess, without millions of fungi doing their non-stop job on processing organic matter - all nature around would be overflowing with waste, dead wood and leaves! so yes, mushrooms to a large extent (even though it is not obvious) shape the world around us, clean it :) also they are great as !PIZZA ingredients 😍 Glad you enjoyed my visuals!

crazy pictures, bro ! love em

Hmm, crazy? I dont think so, maybe only of a snail among gigantic lichens... but anyway - thank you v.much for this compliment. The pleasure is mine all the way! 😎 !BEER

The slippery jack looks more beautiful
Looks like lollipop😅😅

haha! it is a nice Boletus, but hard to process - its cap is really very sticky! All kinds of debris from the forest soil easily stick to it. That's why I don't really like picking these tasty mushrooms 😜 Have a Hive !BEER 😀

Grazie! 😘

Some very funky fungi! It's amazing how many different varieties have evolved over millions of years. Most are probably long since extinct. Great shots! The first one kind of looked like shellfish!
