Chabuca Granda Square and the Recoleta Cemetery [ENG/ESP]

It's nice to look through folders and see photos that I took, edited and didn't use, it's like looking at your work after weeks and getting a different appreciation because when you are editing at a certain moment you get oversaturated with so many adjustments that you lose a little bit the concept of the image, what it expresses or how you did it. A few weeks ago I walked through the Chabuca Granda square in the Recoleta neighborhood, I had my 50 mm lens at hand.

It was a very sunny day and I went especially to the area where the famous old English style telephone booths were located, I have always wanted to make different compositions there with different equipment.

The idea was to capture people passing by these phone booths in a way that could give a concept and include them directly or indirectly in the image, as is the case of this shot. This lady was not only passing by the place but also stopped to appreciate this neighborhood attraction.

In this area there are many trees and I really liked how the shadows of the branches are reflected in it.

I also liked this photo very much, I wanted to capture some passerby in the middle of the cabins, I even did it but I think it would have looked better if that motorcycle was not right in the middle, maybe not even the umbrellas. I liked it anyway, they looked like tourists.

After being there for a while when I turned around I saw the cemetery and it is really impossible not to enter, to stand in front of such a structure and look at its entrance, its columns and the imposing style in relation to the architecture. People who do not know about this place consider that it is rare to enter a cemetery to take pictures, maybe, but this one is very different.

It is known worldwide and famous for its mausoleums, sculptures, style of architecture and all this artistic work that is inside where there are also buried famous and historical figures of the Argentine nation.

I have already shared about this place but as I said before when you take a different lens you want to try new results, compositions and moments. So I went in and here is a sample of some of this artwork from that day.

The place is always full of tourists from different parts of the world, especially Brazil which is a neighboring country, that day I think I remember there was a guided tour with people from China, that's great. Here you can see some of those tours as well as the corridors, the sculptures on top of mausoleums and part of what this place is.

It was a short visit really but it was worth it for me, it is always rewarding to do photo tours, when I get home I find very good moments captured.
