Hello everyone in the Pinmapple community! Today I bring you a new publication that belongs to that experience of "Getting to know Las Vegas". On this occasion I bring what was my tour of the "Madame Tussauds" Wax Museum which is located in Las Vegas. It was a tourist spot that I wanted to see in person and see if these figures really looked as realistic (and well made) as they were shown in the images and videos that I was able to see at the time (and that we all know). Join me on this journey.
"Madame Tussauds" is located at 3377 Las Vegas Boulevard Street and Paradise, NV. Specifically, we can find it at the Venetian Hotel, following the tour of the Grand Cannal Shoppes. The museum owes its origin to Marie Grosholtz, a French woman who dedicated herself to sculpting large-scale figures belonging to 16th century figures. She learned the trade through the surgeon, Philippe Curtius, who sculpted human figures for study purposes. Marie learned the technique exceptionally. Some of Marie's notable works are sculptures of Benjamin Franklin, Voltaire and some figures from the royal court. Within her work we will also find a special exhibition called "The Chamber of Horrors" where she herself sculpted several historical figures being guillotined. Thanks to this legacy, she opened the first Museum of her style in London.
¡Hola a todos en la comunidad de Pinmapple! El día de hoy les traigo una nueva publicación que pertenece a esa experiencia de "Conociendo Las Vegas". En esta oportunidad traigo lo que fue mí recorrido por el Museo de Cera de "Madame Tussauds" que está ubicado en Las Vegas. Era un punto turístico que deseaba conocer en persona y ver sí en verdad estás figuras lucian tan realista (y bien hechas) cómo se mostraban en las imágenes y los videos que pude ver en su momento (y que todos conocemos). Acompáñame en este recorrido.
"Madame Tussauds" se encuentra ubicado en Las Vegas Boulevard Street 3377 y la Paradise, NV. Específicamente, lo podremos encontrar en el Hotel Venetian, siguiendo el recorrido por el Grand Cannal Shoppes. El museo debe su origen a Marie Grosholtz, una mujer francesa que se dedicaba a esculpir figuras de gran tamaño (a escala) pertenecientes a personajes del siglo XVI. El oficio lo aprendió a través del médico cirujano, Philippe Curtius, quién esculpía figuras humanas para propósitos de estudio. Marie aprendió la técnica de manera excepcional. Algunas de las obras destacables de Marie son las esculturas de Benjamín Franklin, Voltaire y algunos personajes de la corte real. Dentro de sus trabajos encontraremos también una exposición especial llamada "La Camara de los Horrores" dónde ella misma esculpió a varios personajes históricos siendo guillotinados. Gracias a este legado, se inauguró el primer Museo de su estilo en Londres.
In Las Vegas, we will find a space dedicated to Marie, where they tell us her story (her beginnings), her and some unfinished works on display. But let's go now to the first thing. To access the facilities we must buy a ticket to tour the entire museum. There are several, the general one with a cost of about $38 and the VIP (I honestly don't remember the value). I went with my sister who was my adventure partner during this trip. When we enter we can meet some famous people (actors and singers); Jhonny Deep, Brad Pitt, Robert Pattison, JLO, Beyonce, "The Rock", Gwen Stefani, Michael Jackson, Tupac, Bob Marley, Miley Cyrus, etc. They were different spaces where these characters were distributed.
Another memorable space is the one dedicated to celebrities from different eras (from television, sports and entertainment in general): Elvis Presley, Celine Dion, Muhammad Ali, Evel Knievel, Saquille O'Nneal, Babe Ruth, Stevie Wonder, Louis Armstrong, Prince and others. My favorite space was where I was able to interact with some objects and pretend to be in some scenes from movies that were filmed in Las Vegas, such as: Goodbye to Las Vegas and What Happened Yesterday?. There I married Nicolas Cage. They lend you a dress to recreate the moment. I also enjoyed the pool full of betting chips (it was a lot of fun). And if you are interested, you can find a stand where they can take the mold of your hand to make it out of wax, like a souvenir. There is also a small cafe and a souvenir shop. Actually, I found the museum tour quite complete, it is immersive, you will be able to see many characters and play.
En Las Vegas encontraremos un espacio dedicado a Marie, dónde nos cuentan su historia (sus inicios) y algunos trabajos inacabados en exhibición. Pero vayamos ahora a lo primero. Para acceder a las instalaciones debemos comprar un ticket para recorrer todo el museo. Hay varios, el general con un costo de unos 38$ y el VIP (qué sinceramente no recuerdo el valor). Fuí con mí hermana quién fue mí compañera de aventuras durante este viaje. Cuando entramos podemos conocer algunos personajes famosos (actores y cantantes); Jhonny Deep, Brad Pitt, Robert Pattison, JLO, Beyonce, "La Roca", Gwen Stefani, Michael Jackson, Tupac, Bob Marley, Miley Cyrus, etc. Eran distintos espacios dónde se repartían estos personajes.
Otro espacio memorable es el que está dedicado a famosos de distintas épocas (de la televisión, los deportes y el entretenimiento en general): Elvis Presley, Celine Dion, Muhammad Ali, Evel Knievel, Saquille O'Nneal, Babe Ruth, Stevie Wonder, Louis Armstrong, Prince y otros más. Mí espacio favorito fue en dónde pude interactuar con algunos objetos y jugar a estar en algunas escenas de películas que se grabaron en Las Vegas, cómo: Adiós a Las Vegas y ¿Qué pasó ayer?. Ahí me casé con Nicolas Cage. Ellos te prestan un vestido para recrear el momento. También disfrute de la piscina llena de fichas de apuestas (fue muy divertido). Y si estás interesado, podrás encontrar un puesto dónde pueden tomar el molde de tu mano para hacerlo de cera, cómo un recuerdo. También hay un pequeño cafetín y un local de souvenirs. En realidad, me pareció bastante completo el recorrido del museo, es inmersivo, podrás ver muchos personajes y jugar.
By the way, I forgot that there is also a last area where some Marvel characters are found. Over there I have some photographs with Hulk. In general, I would say that locating the museum is a great idea to take into account if visiting iconic spaces is your thing. Furthermore, most people attended just to be able to take a good photo with a scale model of their favorite actor/musician. Now, the truth is that I was hoping to see more characters but I didn't take into account the fact that several of the ones I was hoping to see are spread across several other museums. To send that, it is best to research what characters you will find depending on the state or country you are in. Finally, my friends, I leave you to look at the photographs carefully because you will be able to notice details of the skin, the body, the face and even the clothing, which generate a sensation of really being next to someone alive. Por cierto, olvidaba que también hay una última zona donde se encuentran algunos personajes de Marvel. Por allí tengo alguna fotografía con Hulk. En general, diría que situar el museo es una gran idea para tomar en cuenta sí lo tuyo es visitar espacios icónicos. Además, la mayoría de las personas asistían para tan solo poder tomarse una buena fotografía con un modelo a escala de su actor/músico favorito. Ahora, la verdad es que esperaba ver más personajes pero no tome en cuenta el hecho de que varios de los que esperaba ver están repartidos por varios otros museos. Para enviar eso, lo mejor será investigar sobre qué personajes encontrarás dependiendo del estado o el país en el que te encuentres. Finalmente amigos míos, los dejo para que vean las fotografías con detenimiento pues podrán notar detalles de la piel, el cuerpo, la cara y hasta la vestimenta, que generan una sensación de estar realmente al lado de alguien vivo.
