I'm so sorry for what happened to Valencia. If it wasn't for work and for family issues, I would have come there as a volunteer. As an Italian, we have been through this kind of events some times lately, floods and earthquakes, and it's devastating.
I hope this amazing city can recover and get back to its natural wonder, and that this sad story can somehow fade away in the memory of people, as a weird dream that we are not fully able to remember at morning.
Thank you for sharing this post. It's literally food for thoughts.

It is a tragedy.

It is very shocking to see the destruction, but a few kilometres away in the big city everything looks normal. In Valencia the impact of the storm due to the channelling of the river Turia many years ago did not suffer as devastating floods as the villages to the south of the city.
