A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words.

What I see: I see a man standing in the middle of a dark tunnel. The sun rays from the opposite end of the tunnel illuminate the inside of the tunnel.

What I think: I think that the man has been walking a long way and is tired. So, he wait a little looking at how far he still have to walk to get to the end of the tunnel.

My Story:
Escaping from a conflict zone or war zone could be so tasking. Sometimes, the adventure could be deadly.

There was a man living with his family in a far country from their native home. The name of the man was Beko. Beko left his country many years ago and traveled to another country to find an end meet. He had heard that people who could break through to enter that country usually succeed. So, he left.

When Beko left, he was still in his college days. He hadn't gotten his college certificate then. He had an opportunity to follow a friend who had managed to smuggle himself into that country. Both of them entered into the country illegally.

The news of people entering that country illegally wasn't strange as that was the popular entrance for migrants to gain access into that country. There were several opportunities for young people in that country that was why many of them from the undeveloped countries usually find a way of migrating to that country.

Beko made it into the country successfully. He spent many years building his empire but he was an illegal resident. All efforts to get his resident’s permit proved abortive. He kept going believing one day he will be able to get the resident's permit.

In that country, he worked hard and built himself a comfortable home. He had a job, a house, a wife with some kids. Life was just okay for him until the unexpected happened.

The law of that land had it that illegal residents be treated like terrorists. They were usually sentenced to life imprisonment or death.

On that fateful day, this man woke up and got to work. On arriving at his office, he met some officers from the immigration office who demanded that he should produce his residential permit. That sounded like the end of the road for him.

There was this friend which he had. The friend was a native of the country. That friend devised means for Beko to escape. There was no way Beko would have stayed. He had to get himself out of the country immediately if not he might find himself in jail for the rest of his life.

Beko’s friend knew about a tunnel which leads to another country which is neighboring to Beko’s country. Beko had no time to wait or get home to inform his wife of what was happening. He had to leave, so he left. His escape from the immigration officers was possible because his friend signaled to him to tell the officers that he was going inside the office to get the required documents. On entering inside, he escaped through the back door.

Beko was able to trace the tunnel. He walked and ran as fast as he could to be sure he had escaped. The tunnel was long. After walking for almost a day, he waited and pondered how he had ended with nothing from that country after labouring for many years.

Beko's story teaches us that we should avoid illegal and unwholesome dealings because they will end with nothing.

Sort:

I wonder how an illegal can build a home everything, get married and have children. Can't money buy everything? The wife and children are illegal as well? No school, no insurance, nothing? It doesn't sound like a great success. All that fear.

There are so many people living in Illusion. This is due to poor living conditions in many nations and bad economic conditions. Some people smuggle themselves into places where they build a fake life for themselves.
😀 Anyway, that we only an imaginary storyline
